Warning Labels on Pop Cans

Sit back and imagine, you’re going to take a sip of pop, when out of the corner of your eye, you see a warning label. Do you quit drinking it, or do you continue on without caring what’s on the can? I don’t think that pop cans should have warning labels.

Most people have drunk pop all of their lives, and they won’t pay any attention to a warning label. Besides, we all know that pop is bad for us anyway. A warning label would be a waste of time and electricity to put one on them, since no one will pay that much attention to them.

There’s also many other things that could use warning labels, so why only put them on pop cans. The main reason they want to put warning labels on pop cans is because of the high sugar content they contain. Things like cakes, donuts, other snack food, and fast food, also contain high sugar levels, but they don’t have warning labels on them. If you wanted to warn people about high sugar and fat contents, you would need to put warning labels on all of these foods too.

They also kind of already have warning labels on them. These labels are the “Nutritional Facts” that are found on the back or sides of the containers. They tell you how much sugar, fats, calories, carbohydrates, and more, are in a certain amount of that drink or food. These labels should be enough to warn people of the bad things going into their bodies.

I understand that there are reasons for putting warning labels on things such as pop. Tobacco products come with labels warning them of certain cancers, disease risk increase, and addiction. They have them on these products because they can cause severe illnesses, such as, stroke, heart attack, and many cancers, such as lung cancer. Pop will make you gain weight, but if you eat right and exercise right, you can lose the weight. However, with tobacco products you can’t really do anything to avoid the risks other than not using them.

I think pop cans already have enough labels, and they don’t need any more labels on them. There’s nothing they can really do, but cause you to gain weight and you won’t even gain weight if you exercise normally. There is no need for any more labels on them.
