Rules

The Committee have the power to suspend any player or team for any breach of the following Rules :-

  1. The Committee reserve the right to refuse any pub, club or player from joining the league. A reason for doing so must be given.
  1. The throw shall be 7’9 1/4” (2.37m) in a plumb line from the face of the board to the oche. The centre of the Bull Ring shall be 5’8” (1.73m) from the floor. A raised oche should be used where possible.
  1. Captains of both teams must mutually agree that the conditions of play are satisfactory i.e. that the board is in good condition and the throw is in accordance with Rule 2 before the start of the game. Any disagreements or disputes arising before, during or after a match must be notified in writing to the Secretary. Verbal discussions will not be entertained.
  1. All league games are to be played on Mondays. In the event of a team not being able to play a match on the due date, the Captain will inform the opposing team and the league secretary as soon as possible giving a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to the game. Captains are to organise for the match to be played on a convenient date, which must be within 28 days of the original match date or, if the fixture is in the last month of the season, the match must be played before the last “League Match” of the season. However, the team who are able to play the match on the original date are allowed to refuse to rearrange the fixture if any alternative dates are inconvenient to them.
  1. Games shall be played six singles and three pairs, best of three legs 501, straight in, double finish. There will also be a Beer leg of 1,001 straight in, double finish. The Beer leg will count as a point in the Beer Cup only. If a team does not have six players in the beer leg they will forfeit a throw for each missing player. More than six players can be used. All nine games and the beer leg must be completed.
  1. League points will be calculated as follows: -

1 point will be awarded for each single or pair win.

9 league points will be awarded per game/match.

Any game not played due to a team being unavailable will be awarded 9 – 0 to the team that was available.

  1. League matches will start at 8.15pm. One player from both teams must be available to play at 8.15pm. If a team does not have a number one player available at 8.15pm the first game may be claimed by the opponents. If none of the team are present at 8.30pm the whole match can be claimed. In the event the game gets underway at 8.15pm play will then be continuous. Any player arriving after 9.00pm will not be eligible to play in the match but may do so at the discretion of the opposing captain.
  1. The Beer leg will be played at the end of the evening. However, if the two captains agree, it may be played at any other time during the evening i.e. first or after the singles.
  1. All Cup games and competitions are to be played on Mondays. Cup games will start at 8.15pm. Competitions (i.e. singles, pairs, captains cup etc) will also have an 8.15pm start but players must sign in by 8.00pm. It is the player’s responsibility to make sure he is signed in by 8.00pm.
  1. Players in all competitions must sign the result form provided by the committee. Captains are to printplayers’ names on result cards, the player to sign alongside before each game is played. No player may sign on for more than one team in the League.
  1. Teams shall consist of a minimum of six players. Teams may sign on an indefinite number of players until the 7th December 2006. Players must be signed on and the signature and signing on fee must be with the Secretary before the match. No County or Super League players may be signed on in Divisions 2 or lower after the league has been drawn up. Any team who plays an unregistered player will forfeit any points won in the match and the match points given to the opponents.
  1. Once the leagues have been drawn up a player may not sign on for, or transfer to, a team in a lower division than the division he played in the previous season.
  1. Permission to transfer a player from one team to another must be obtained from the Committee, no transfer will be allowed after the 7th December 2006. Any player transferring from one team to another is not eligible to play in Cup matches if he has played in an earlier round for his original team.
  1. Home teams are requested to ensure the dartboard is free from 7.50pm to enable players from both teams to ‘throw up’.
  1. The entrance fee to the league shall be £20 per venue Landlords fee for the first team and £10 for each subsequent team. Players’ fees are £3 per player. Fees for the singles and pairs shall be £1.50 per single and £3 per pair. No entrance fee for the Captains Cup.
  1. The winning captain is responsible for sending in the result to the Secretary. All results must be in by midnight Thursday following the game.
  1. All matters concerning the League and players, not covered by the rules, shall be determined by the Committee.
