Guidance

Terms and conditions

  1. Entrants must be resident in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth or Southampton.
  2. Family members of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office staff members cannot enter the competition.
  3. One entry per person only.
  4. Entries will not be returned.
  5. The closing date for entries is 17November 2017.
  6. The Police and Crime Commissioner’s office reserves the right to edit or adapt the drawings submitted.
  7. The personal details provided on the entry form will be used by the office of the Police and Crime Commissioner only for the purposes of administrating this competition.
  8. The office of the Police and Crime Commissioner reserves the right to change or cancel this competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.

Hand-drawn entries

  1. Entries should be no larger than A3 and no smaller than A5.
  2. The form should be fully completed and signed by the entrant (or their guardian / carer) to show acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  3. Entries should be hand-drawn and should be your own and original work. Raised materials like glitter and felt can be used but please note that the winning card image will need to be scanned and when it is remastered for print the final image will be a flat 2D image. Entries must not include any image that may breach copyright regulations e.g. cartoon characters, brand names etc.
  4. Entries should be sent by post (preferably unfolded) to:

Photo or computer-generated entries

  1. Photograph entries and computer-generated entries will also be accepted and can be sent by post (same address as above) or by email to . Entries, whether postal or emailed, must include a completed and signed entry form to show acceptance of these terms and conditions by the entrant or carer.
  2. Photograph entries should have a resolution of 300dpi or over and should be saved as a JPEG file.
  3. Computer-generated entries should be suitable for printing on an A5 card.
  4. Photograph entries and computer-generated entries should be the entrant’s own and original work. Entries must not include any image that may breach copyright regulations e.g. cartoon characters, brand names etc.

Competition judging

  1. Any entries not complying with these terms and conditions will not be put forward for judging.Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entry at their absolute discretion.
  2. The office of the Police and Crime Commissioner accepts no responsibility for cards which are lost, damaged, illegible, received after the closing date or from which the prize-winner cannot be identified.
  3. Judging will be carried out by the Police and Crime Commissioner and his team.
  4. The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding this decision.

The winner

  1. The winner will be notified by phone and/or in writing (using details provided by the on the entry form) within two weeks of the closing date and their prize issued by post within six weeks of the closing date.
  2. No cash or alternative prize will be available.
  3. Unclaimed prizes: if for any reason the winner is not contactable for one month after the closing date or unable to collect or receive the prize, a different winner will be selected.

Promotions

  1. The office of the Police and Crime Commissioner reserves the right to publish the winning card and details of the win as and where deemed appropriate. This could include, but is not exclusive to, the Police and Crime Commissioner website, social media pages, offline materials and the printed card. Details of the win will include the name and town/city of residence.
