All of us at PSUK are passionate in supporting not only Elite Athletes but also those at Amateur level who wish to progress. With this in mind we have designed the PSUK Championships as a family friendly competition for those wishing to compete for the first time all the way through to Elite athlete.
By entering the PSUK Championship you have the opportunity to qualify for the finals to be held in September 2018 in Witham ,Essex . Applications to this event open on the 12th February 2018 and close 1st June 2018

Terms & Conditions
Entry:
The Entry fee is £20 and is non-refundable.
Discounts are available to school and clubs who enter more than 5 students. The fee will be reduced to £15 per competitor when payment for all competitors is made in one transaction.
The reduced rate of £15 is also available to university students and NHS staff on production of a copy their valid ID cards as well as all youth competitors.
PSUK UK reserve the right to make changes to the rules, regulations and terms of the competition at any point. Competitors will be notified of these changes via email.
You must adhere to the Rules and Regulations set out by PSUK. Failure to do so could result in your disqualification from the competition
PSUK reserve the right to stop the competitor's performance at any time due to safety concerns or inappropriate behaviour.
PSUK will not be held responsible for any injury sustained by a competitor during the competition and any competitor that makes it through to the final will be required to ensure that they have adequate personal insurance.
To protect PSUK in any legal action, the competitor is required to complete a medical waiver prior to competing, highlighting any health concerns that may affect their performance. Should there be any concerns, this will be subject to PSUK overall committee decision to allow the competitor to continue and this decision will be final.
Payment:
Payment must be submitted at the same time the entry is made. An application will not be deemed as complete until full payment is made. Any applications with payments made after the closing date (1st June 2018) will not be included and the payment will not be refunded. Payment is to be made via PayPal to:

Categories
There are 5 categories for the PSUK Amateur Championship. These are:
- First Timers
- Beginner - Youth age 6-16
- Beginner - Adult
- Beginner - Masters age 40 plus
- Beginner - Doubles
- Intermediate - Youth age 6-16
- Intermediate - Adult
- Intermediate - Masters age 40 plus
- Intermediate - Doubles
- Advanced - Youth age 6-16
- Advanced - Adult
- Advanced- Masters age 40 plus
- Advanced - Doubles
- Professional
- Professional – Masters age 40 plus
NB should we not have enough youths (age 6-16) or masters (age 40 plus) entries in any category we reserve the right to combine all ages in that category or age section
Youth (Novice 6-16)
All youth entrants must be accompanied by parent/guardian at all times. No entry will be accepted without full completion of a parental/guardian consent form and full medical waiver PRIOR to the event.
First timers:
This category is for anyone who has not previously competed in any pole sport/dance/fitness competitions. This category ISNOT open to professional gymnasts/dancers/instructors. The term ‘professional’ is defined as an individual who is paid to work in this industry and/or holds professional qualifications in any of these areas.
NO inversions (lifting oneself upside down) are permitted. If this occurs disqualification of the competitor will be enforced.
Both static and spinning poles MUST be incorporated in both video entry and final routine.
Routine length for the video qualifier and in the final will be no greater than:
3 minutes 30 seconds
Beginners:
MUST NOThave placed first in any pole competition at beginner level or above. This category is NOT open to professional gymnasts/dancers/instructor. The term ‘professional’ is defined as an individual who is paid to work in this industry and/or holds professional qualifications in any of these areas.

Intermediate:
MUST NOT have placed first in any pole competition at intermediate level or above. This category is notopen to professional gymnasts/ dancers/instructors. The term ‘professional’ is defined as an individual who is paid to work in this industry and/or holds professional qualifications in any of these areas.
All pole moves with a static grip must have 3 points of contact with the pole.
Routine length for the video qualifier and in the final will be no greater than:
4 minutes.
Advanced:
There are no restrictions on moves with in this category.
Entrants MUST NOT have been paid to perform or an instructor or placed 1st in any advanced section in any pole competition
Routine length for the video qualifier and in the final will be no greater than:
4 minutes.
Professional:
There are no restrictions on moves with in this category.
This category is open to competitors who have been paid to perform, instructors or anyone who has placed 1st at advanced level at a pole competition
Routine length for the video qualifier and in the final will be no greater than:
4 minutes.
PSUK reserve the right to move a competitor into a more suitable category at any stage. Any competitor found entering a category against the category terms and conditions will be disqualified.

Rules & Regulations for Video Entry
Video applications close at 23:59 1st June 2018. Entries will only be deemed as complete upon receipt of the entry fee, fully completed Entry Forms and a video link to the competitor’s video entry (see video entry section for further information). Any entries received after this will not be entered.
An incorrectly filled application will be cause for disqualification. If you would like the PSUK team to check your application and video then we must receive this before Friday 18th May. Any applications received after this date shall not have the opportunity to be corrected.
Song choice:
Your song choice must NOT be explicit in any manner for either the video entry or in the finals (if you are successful). Upon progression to the final your song choice must be submitted 4 weeks before hand. A maximum and minimum length of performance can be found within the ‘Categories’ section. PSUK reserve the right to decline any song choice deemed inappropriate by the committee.
Costume:
This a family friendly competition and removal of any clothing is strictly prohibited. Costumes must be of a sporting nature and must be appropriate for competitive athletic sports. They must fully cover the pelvis and gluteal area for all competitors and the breast area for females at ALL times.
The competitors attire must not display logos or any other form of advertising. If you are unsure at all then please send us a photo of your costume and we will be happy to advise on the suitability. If the competitors costume has not been checked by our team and is deemed as ‘unfit/inappropriate’ at the final then point deductions shall be made or in extreme cases disqualification. Staging:
There will be 2 poles in the Finals. The pole to the audiences right will be on spin and pole to the left on static. Both 45mm in size. Stage specifications will be available on invitation to the final.
Video Entries:
Video entry qualification will be used to ensure a competitor is entering in the correct category and/or skill level in accordance with PSUK criteria. PSUK reserve the right to move applicants into a more suitable category where they see fit. In this instance competitors will be informed by email. Deadline for submission: 1st June 2018
A video entry must be filmed from a static location, with NO cuts or editing of ANY kind with good lighting conditions. The pole to the audiences right mustbe on spin and pole to the left on static.
Videos filmed in dark rooms or with any kind of filter or are deemed inadequate by the PSUK committee will not be accepted.
The video can either be submitted online via a number of video platforms such as YouTube ( – the correct (unlisted) link to the video MUST be submitted to PSUK via email prior to the deadline or video sent as an attachment via email with your application form to
The video entry must be clearly labelled with the competitors full name, category and name of competition.
BOTH spinning and static poles MUST be used in the video in correct positions as described above.
Entrants may submit a previously recorded routine as long as all specifications are met.
Youth video entries MUST be sent with consent of the parent/guardian, any entries without this will not be accepted. All video entries will be reviewed by a panel of PSUK officials and judges. Parents/guardians may send videos directly to PSUK or upload online at their discretion. Video entries will be kept until the competition has been concluded, at which point will be deleted.
Finals:
Successful applicants must be available for the Finals in September 2018 at Witham Public Hall, Collingwood Road, Witham, Essex CM8 2DY.
Acceptance to the finals will be judged solely on their video entry and the PSUK judges’ decision is final. Full terms, conditions, rules and judging criteria will be sent via email with an invitation to the final.
There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awarded at the Final.
Competitors must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If this is found, the competitor will be immediately disqualified.
Competitors must complete a PARQ (2nd Medical waiver) on the day of the Finals. PSUK reserve the right to refuse participation based on any medical concerns deemed unsafe or potentially dangerous. Should this occur, the PSUK committee decision is final.
PSUK reserve the right to revoke your place in the Final if you are deemed unfit at any point. This decision is final.
Additional information regarding the competition venue, travel and accommodation will be emailed to all successful finalists.
Routine:
This is a family friendly competition and Sexual gestures are not permitted. Any gestures or moves deemed unfit for a family audience by the judges will be penalised. Judges reserve the right to give anything from a point penalty to disqualification.
Only the competitor(s) are permitted on stage. All youth entrants must be accompanied by parent/guardian at all times or escorted with a qualified children’s chaperone. Props may be included but must be highlighted in the entry form and will be at the decision of the PSUK committee.
Grips:
Grip aids are permitted and full information and restrictions will be in the detailed in the finalist pack. The competitor will have the option of inspecting/cleaning their own pole prior to their performance.
Judging:
All video entries will be judged by PSUK endorsed judges allocated by the PSUK Committee. Names of the judges at the finals will be revealed to all successful applicants prior to the event.
Competitors MUST NOT communicate with the judges at any time during the Final.
The judge’s decision is final and absolute.
Video/photographer:
Please be aware all routines in the final will be recorded and photographed by PSUK officials. All material will be the property of PSUK and may be used as future marketing material unless you explicitly request to opt out.
All competitors (or parent/guardian) will be required to sign a consent/photo-release form prior to their performance.
All rules and regulations outlined above are subject to change at any point deemed necessary by PSUK. Competitors will be updated should this occur.
