Poetry Photostory: Expressing Ideas through Images
Your goal is to TPCASTT one of Shakespeare’s sonnetsand create a photostory for it. The photostory will be worth one-half a major grade; the TPCASTT of your poem will be worth one-fourth a major grade, and a story board will be one-fourth of your grade. (If you are uncomfortable using photostory, you may use powerpoint and bring your own music.)
Requirements:
- You will be assigned one of Shakespeare’s sonnets: 18, 29, 60, 116, or 130.
- After we review the TPCASTT technique in class and practice applying it, begin TPCASTT-ing your sonnet. Complete a rough draft of your TPCASTT on a sheet of paper; however, you will need to type the TPCASTT when you submit it for a grade.
- After you have TPCASTT-ed your poem, you will create a storyboard for your photostory.
- You will need one image for every line of your poem.
- Your photostory must begin with an introductory image. On this introductory image, you will include your sonnet’s number, your name and your class period.
- The next image will correspond to the first line of the poem. The text of the first line of the poem should be on this slide. (You should include a short paraphrase in parenthesis for each line of poetry.)
- The second image will follow with the second line and paraphrase and so on.
- The last image of your photostory will be a credits image. On this credits image, you must document the url’s you used as well as your poem.
- You will also need to include music in your photostory that appropriately suits the tone of your poem.
- You do not need to bring images or music from home. You may use free images off the Internet. You may also use the music that is available in the photostory software. However, you may bring images and music from home on a USB drive if you so choose.

- You will present your photo story to the class on the assigned due date.
