Main Activities and Program of the Workshop:

The workshop will contain information, tools and inspiration which will empower you to become more active towards a sustainable future: Active citizenship, Sustainable Development, adaptation to Climate Change, Energy crisis and Peak Oil, mitigation of environmental impact, community building and local democracy/participation as well as gender equality.

The workshop will include a combination of inputs and concepts from different movements and concrete tools such as: Permaculture Design, Ecovillage Development, Transition Towns Initiatives, and other innovative life-styles alternatives, based on concrete examples, group discussions, hands on activities, games and site exercises.

The programme includes various activities regarding aspects such as:

-Cultural Exchange and Integration.

-Ecological, Social, Economical and Organizational aspects of Sustainability.

-Visit of concrete projects regarding active citizenship initiatives and sustainable good practices in the city of Oslo, debates with representatives of local authorities and from the civil society

Terms and Conditions of the Grant:

All travel, accommodation and food expensive during the workshop, together with the course fee are free of charge for citizens of countries members of the Programme (* See under Eligibility Criteria), since costs are covered by an EU Grundtvig Grant. Taxi and extra accommodation on the way from the home country to Norway and return, as well as meals during the journey will not be covered by the grant.

Please find out the cost for transportation from your location to Oslo, Norway and return. (You can fly to three airports serving the city of Oslo: Gardermoen, Torp Sandefjord or Rygge airports.). Many train and busses arrive to the city of Oslo. You are asked to choose the most economical and environmental combination.

You should pay the cost of travel, which will be reimbursed to you after arrival if and only you submit valid documents for accounting (tickets, invoices, etc.) You have to fulfill the whole workshop in order to get the reimbursement.

* Eligibility Criteria

Individual adult learners applying to participate in a Workshop must be aged 18 or above and either:

- a national of a country participating in the Lifelong Learning Programme;

- a national of other countries enrolled in regular courses in schools, institutions of higher education or vocational training, or in adult learning organisations in a participating country, or employed or living in a participating country, under the conditions fixed by each of the participating countries, taking into account the nature of the programme (please refer to relevant National Agency website).

Application Procedure for adult learners wishing to participate in a Workshop: the Workshop organiser will provide candidate learners with a learner application form.

Applications should be submitted directly to the Workshop organiser, in accordance with the deadline specified by the organiser, Local adult education organisations may assist learners in making their applications.

Nationals/residents from the country where the Workshop is organised can participate but are not eligible for funding.
