All references should express the scholarly and professional reasons for endorsing your candidacy as a Visiting Scholar in the MIT-UTM Malaysia Sustainable Cities Program, paying particular attention to your record of teaching and research in one or more of these areas of inquiry: socially and environmentally sustainable infrastructure development; governance and strategies for public engagement; indicators for measuring sustainability; historic preservation and urban design; coastal and marine resource management; resilience of environmentally protected areas; eco-tourism; affordable housing; public transportation; and high-tech job creation. References may also specify the ways in which your involvement in the MIT-UTM Malaysia Sustainable Cities Program are expected to contribute to your organizations educational mission.
