Role Purpose:Finance professional responsible for general assistance in all areas of the nominal ledger department.ACCOUNTABILITIES

Profit /
- Assisting with completion of month-end and year-end accounts processes with analysis of costs and investigation of variances
- Accruals & Prepayments with reconciliation of balance sheet account including cash book accounts
- Responsible for collating expense claims and producing monthly analysis
- Raising and posting of nominal invoices
- Responsible for collating Corporate Card statements and producing monthly analysis of expenditure
- Maintaining the fixed asset register. Capitalising project costs and working with IT Director to ensure all assets are categorised correctly.
- Checking of purchase orders raised for correct coding
- Production of the Monthly & Quarterly Tax Returns for turnover of Gold Medal Travel Group.
- Production of cost statements for individual areas of the company for review by senior management.
- Analysis of monthly costs & investigation of variances to budget/forecast
- Ad Hoc Analysis as Required including the review and improvement and working practices
- Ensure accuracy of data and that any issues are investigated
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations produced to high level of accuracy and un-cleared items investigated & cleared quickly
- Ensuring payments are received in a timely manner
- Reports are produced to a high level of accuracy and within deadline for review by senior management
Operational /
- Input to internal and external audit processes
- Various ad-hoc reporting requirements
- All audit queries are dealt with in a timely manner
Communication /
- Maintain a good, open relationship with all Independent Finance Areas
- Liaise and challenge different areas of the business with regards to department overhead analysis
- Ensure meetings are held when necessary to highlight any issues to senior management in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS or ACCREDITATIONS
Essential:- Educated to GCSE and A-level standard grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in an accounting department
- Degree in business or accounting related subject
