DECEMBER 24TH LAURA POKOCKY

DECEMBER 31STJOE & JILL FEBBO

Dear Friends inChild Jesus,

I am so happy to write to you all during this Holy Season of Christmas. On behalf of this wonderful faith community of St. Joseph’s and missions, I would like to wish you all a faith-filled Merry Christmas and a prosperous Happy New 2018. May this holy season bring you more happiness and joy and fill your hearts and minds with unending love of Christ our Lord. Every time we come to Church, we are all given a special blessing from God Almighty. Every time we receive any of the Church’s sacraments, we experience the unconditional love of the Lord and every time we put our faith into practice, we become new spiritual beings in the Holy Spirit. Christ loves us all with who we are and accepts with our condition and limitations. Nothing can stop Christ from loving us. Though we may go away from Him, He is always with us. This Holy Season of Christmas assures us that we belong to Him and He is with us always. Let us renew our faith in Him and experience more blessings and happiness in our everyday life. Even you are away from Christ for a while, please consider to come back to the Lord and know that you are not alone and He is with us always. May this Christmas shine His eternal light on us and lead us to Him. I will continue to pray for you and all your family members. May God bless you on this Holy Season of Christmas. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2018. In Christ Father Peter Selvaraj

CHRISTMAS

THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD

(Liturgical colour WHITE, symbolizing “JOY”)

FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER

Sanctuary candle for this month is burning for the speedy recovery of those who are sick. May God continue to bless and heal them in Christ Jesus. “If one member suffers, we all suffer together; if one member is honoured, all rejoice together.” (1Cor. 12:26)

DECEMBER DEVOTION

December is dedicated to Advent and the coming of Christ. This refers to the preparation of the celebration of remembering Christ’s birth 2000 years ago, but also the prayerful, spiritual preparation for the second and final coming of the Lord.

DICTIONARY OF THE CATHOLIC TERMS:

Catholic Church:

The Church established by Christ on the foundation of the Apostles, possessing the fullness of the means of salvation which he has willed: correct and complete confession of faith, full sacramental life and ordained ministry in apostolic succession.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARIES

We would like to recognize the wedding anniversaries of our parishioners in the bulletin beginning in January 2018. If you would like to participate, please see the sign-up sheet at the back of the church.

2018 OFFERTORY ENVELOPES

If you would like offertory envelopes please call Carol 705-645-2294 Monday to Thursday 9 am to 2 pm.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT OF THE WEEK

“Lay your sins aside and come to the Father with them. His arms will always be open to renewed fellowship with His children.”

NO SIN IS TOO BIG FOR HIM

Christ knows our shortcomings and failures. There is no sin that can not be forgiven by our Lord Jesus Christ. In the ocean of His unlimited forgiveness, our sins are just a speck of dust. Let us return to the Lord and celebrate our origin, meaning and purpose of life. Christ has answer for everything. He is the only way, truth and life and let us go to Him and receive His countless blessings. Please consider returning to the Lord.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER UPON ….

Give God what’s right – Not what’s left!

“Pray” is a four letter word that you can say anywhere (except in school.)

Man’s way leads to a hopeless end, while God’s way leads to an endless hope.

A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.

God loves everyone, but probably prefers “fruits of the spirit” over “religious nuts.”

God grades on the cross, not the curve.

Are you wrinkled with burden? Come on into Church for a faith lift!

Prayer – Don’t give God instructions – just report for duty!

CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLICCHURCH

Why did God make man?

God made everything for man. Man, however, who is “the only creature on earth that God has willed for its own sake” (GS 24, 3), was created in order to be blessed. This happens when he knows, loves and serves God and lives in gratitude toward His Creator.

Please call us at 705-645-2294

If you would like to have a visit or anyone whom you know are sick, please kindly give us a call. Father Peter would like to take Communion and pray with them. Let us continue to pray for those who are sick and their speedy recovery. God bless.

MORNING CONSECRATION TO MARY

My Queen, My Mother, I offer my entirely to thee.

And to show my devotion to thee,

I offer thee this day, my eyes,

My ears, my mouth, my heart,

My whole being without reserve.

Wherefore, good Mother, as I am thine own, keep me; guard me as thy property and possession. Amen.

ARE YOU AWAY FROM THE CHURCH?

Though we are away from the Lord, He will not abandon us. His love surpasses everything else. Nothing can stop Christ from loving us. His love is unconditional and unlimited. As we come to Him with all our pain, sufferings and difficulties, He will accept us with open arms. Please consider coming back to the Lord and experience His unconditional love and kindness.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

From January 2018, we will have Sunday School for children under 8 years of age at the 9 am. Mass. Please bring your children and let us help them grow in the love and kindness of Christ our Lord.

SAINT’S CORNER

Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph (Dec.31st)

Devotion to the Holy Family flourished in the Renaissance. When this feast day was instituted in 1921, it was originally assigned to the third Sunday after Christmas. It is now observed on the first Sunday following Christmas. May the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph bless your family and make you holy.
