The Emerging Technology Award aims to identify and recognise innovative new technology ideas developed in the UK for the offshore energy sector (oil and gas and all forms of renewables). The technology is expected to be at an early stage of development (up to and including the pilot installation or trial deployment stage). Responses may include previously developed technologies which have been re-developed in the last 12 months to address further industry challenges.

The judges will be looking for evidence of novelty and innovation in your idea, clear evidence that it addresses a need within the industry, and has a clear business case to take it forward.

Please do not submit other supporting information - only the answers provided on this form will be judged.

Please describe your technology in basic terms so that it is clearly understood. Describe briefly what problems or challenges your technology aims to address. State clearly the technical and commercial objectives you intend to meet with your product or service. If appropriate, please elaborate what makes your technology ‘game changing’. Explain briefly how development of the technology will address objectives and challenges within the oil & gas or renewables industry; and how the technology will contribute towards meeting the technological challenges. Provide an outline business case; i.e. what advantage might be gained – technical, competitive, academic, economic, etc. (Maximum 500 words and up to 3 photographs or illustrations)
