Commitment Form

School

All delegates are expected to:

1. Attend all conference sessions at the designated times and places and wear appropriate conference identification to all conference activities.

2. Respect the rights and safety of others. Any student exhibiting irresponsible behavior that endangers the health, safety, or welfare of him/herself or others will be sent home immediately at his/her expense.

3. Understand that the use of alcohol, illegal drugs or smoking is strictly prohibited. Any student found in possession or under the influence of any illegal drug or alcohol will be expelled from the conference and turned over to his/her advisor. The student will be sent home without delay at the expense of the student, his/her parents, or the student’s school district. Both the student’s school principal and parents will be notified of the infraction.

4.  No food or drink is allowed in classrooms or gymnasium.

5.  Stay in a safe, supervised environment. Unsupervised students may not leave the hotel or school at any time.

6.  Noisemakers will not be allowed.

7.  Always display the appropriate mode of behavior and attire. As a student leader, students are expected to dress accordingly. Students must refrain from bringing controversial clothing to the conference.

a.  No spaghetti straps, crop tops, cut out, frayed, or revealing clothing.

b.  Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.

c.  No clothing with ads for alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or with profanity, sexual pictures, or inference to these items is allowed.

d.  No clothing displaying midriffs, half or full backs, or cleavage.

e.  No clothing designed to be transparent, mesh, or sheer when worn alone.

f.  No clothing showing undergarments. Undergarments must be worn at all times. Shorts should be NO shorter than fingertip length when the arms hand natural at one’s side.

8.  All students are to respect the property of others. Students are not to take objects from hotel rooms, conference areas, or any other property visited. Theft and vandalism will not be tolerated. Any damages done will be at the student’s expense.

For delegates staying in hotels:

1. Be courteous to other guests in the hotel and honor their privacy and need for rest in sleeping room areas. Quiet time in the hotel sleeping room areas begins at 11:00 p.m.

2. Observe the conference stipulated curfew. The advisors are responsible for supervision. If there are any disruptions reported to the hotel, the advisor will be called to correct it.

3. Under no circumstances are male or female members to be in any hotel room of the opposite gender at anytime without an adult advisor present.

A violation of any of these guidelines could result in your child being sent home at the student’s expense. Of course, we would much prefer that everyone have an exciting and safe conference!
