Description

Common Purpose Study Abroad gives you an immersive international experience, challenging you to adapt and thrive in a new context while establishing a genuinely global network. Successful applicants will benefit from an international educational experience. Costs covered include programmedelivery, return flights to Bangalore, accommodation at Christchurch University, travel from and to Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, visa for India and travel insurance.

Participants will need to fund their travel to and from Heathrow Airport, meals and spending money.

Please note the application process is competitive.

SECTION 2

Eligibility and Assessment Criteria

You are eligible if you:

•Are you British national

•Have lived in the United Kingdom (excluding Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) for 3 years or more before coming to University

•Are a current undergraduate student

IMPORTANT VISA INFORMATION:

•You will require a valid visa to travel to India. All successful applicants must complete an online visa application by Thursday 4th May 2017

•Only complete this application form if you have a UK passport which is valid for 190 days beyond exit and has at least two blank pages.

Additionally, at least one of the following must apply to you:

•from a low participation neighbourhood

•from lower socioeconomic group

•from a black or ethnic minority background

•with disabilities

•care leaver background

•attended schools with above regional average of students on Free School Meals

•attended schools where a low percentage of students achieve 5 A*–C GCSEs including English and Maths

•first in family to go to university

•you participated in any of the following programmes: SOAS Scholars, SOAS Bridging Course or Step-On: Aiming for Success

•Applications must be received no later than midnight on 21st April 2017

•Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Application Procedure

Notification of Results

All candidates will be notified by email regarding the outcome of their application by Thursday 27th April 2017.
