When to Use: MODERATE/MAX ASSIST PATIENTS

**DO NOT USE** SEATED SLING for patients with spine or hip precautions

Instructions:

1. Position sling under the patient (via log roll or chair position)

2. Interloop the leg portions of the sling

3. Unplug & check battery

4. Attach sling to bar (make sure to cross the leg portions) q

5. Raise patient up

6. Position patient to desired location

7. Lower patient (in case of emergency, use emergency pump as pictured below)

8. Unhook sling

9. Remove the Golvo ensuring the patient’s feet and body are clear from the lift. Remove sling from the patient

ü Equipment Care: Clean equipment with Sanitation wipes before and after use.

ü Sling Care: If reusing sling with the same patient place sling on the back of the door in patient’s room. If soiled, confirm whether it is laundered or disposable and handle appropriately.

STORAGE OF SLING IN PATIENT’S ROOM:

1. Slings should be hung on the back of bathroom doors on FLOOR UNITS or per the Unit Manager’s instruction.

2. In ICUs there are specialized hooks for slings.
