A great activity if you are new to riding out & about or have only done this a few times. Start in the arena to make sure everyone is ready to go out for a steady morning ride in beautiful woodland. You will have plenty of help on hand. If you need a leader, please request this when you book. When you come back, enjoy your snack & drink ‘on the house’ in the Clubroom with a fun activity too.

PAMPER & PLAY
All abilities
Your chance to love make a fuss of our wonderful Mount Mascal Stables Pony Club Centre ponies. Show them just how much you appreciate them. You will also learn so much useful stuff in the bargain! Correct grooming techniques, leading & handling, pony behaviour …You are welcome to bring along a healthy treat such as an apple/carrot. And you can request your preferred pamper pony when you book! Great handling practice for tests on Thursday and a super fun session.

BEGINNER JUMP SESSION
If you are ‘absolutely new to jumping’ and you walk & trot confidently then this is the jumping session for you.
Start with theory and progress to ridden practice over poles on the ground. Then low level cross pole jumps if you are ready. This is how all the top show jumpers got started.
Please check with your Instructor to make sure you are ready take your first steps in jumping.

BIG TEST DAY!

Speak to your instructor to find out if you are ready to take your test and speak to the office to make sure you know the correct Pony Club test attire. Items are available to purchase if you need them.
D TEST
The first formal test with an external examiner for Pony Club Centre members. You should have at least completed all your Bronze levels to be at the standard required for success.

No Lead Rein
A morning ride in beautiful woodland if you are confident and capable in walk & trot. A great activity to improve your skills beyond the arena. Although you should be able to manage off the lead rein, you will have plenty of help on hand and emergency lead reins will be available. You may try more advanced exercises – eg riding in double file – if the Instructor thinks the ride is capable.
Enjoy your snack & drink ‘on the house’ in the Clubroom afterward with an activity too.

PONY CLUB FUN AFTERNOON PLUS SNACK & CHAT
All abilities
An afternoon of riding and handling, including bareback and vaulting. Exercises practised by the cavalry, mounted police and circus performers. Thrills & skills for sure but safely tailored to your ability.
Drink, snack & chat in the Clubroom included in this session.

BEGINNER PLUS JUMP RALLY
If you work very confidently on the flat in walk, trot & canter and have either completed beginner jumps during lessons or attended two beginner jump rallies you are ready for Beginner Plus level. The session will be ridden, starting with warm up on the flat, then progress to pole work & grid style jumping exercises.

The test that comes between D & C levels. It is a big step up from D and the skills required to pass should not be underestimated. You should have at least completed all your Silver levels to be at the standard required.

Don’t forget to check your attire is correct and that you have your Mini Road Rider before test day.

D TEST REFRESHER DAY
Bronze & D Test levels
A tried and tested recipe for success if you are a D Test candidate this week or hoping to take your test later this year.
The basis for this session is taken from Examiners’ feedback over several seasons and the test syllabus itself.
Special emphasis on the importance of all requirements – riding, theory knowledge and handling skills.
True horsemanship involves ALL ROUND capability – to be able to CARE FOR & BE KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT your pony as well as to ride to test standard. / 10.30 – 4.00
D+ TEST refresher day
Silver & D+ levels

Mini Grooming up for Grabs
To be happy handling and great at grooming is a MUST if you are serious about becoming a capable Pony Club Member. The full Handling & Grooming badge is especially important preparation towards D & D+ Tests and Examiner’s feedback suggests skills are not always what they should be. The benefits of good handling & grooming skills cannot be over stated.
An interesting and very positive benefit is that you will become more confident when you ride if you can handle & care for your pony too. Amazing and true!

Includes Mini Fire Safety Badge and preparation for other badges, levels and tests
Get out on the yard with the behind the scenes team. Day starts with a full safety briefing to include the syllabus for the Mini Fire Safety badge. The move on to activities tailored for your ability that may include: mucking out, grooming, catching ponies, leading, preparing feeds, tacking up and more ... Fantastic fun & good for tests and badges. A rare opportunity to spend time away from the arena. Get involved with pony care and management on our busy yard. Dress warm & prepared to get mucky! Brilliant for aspiring Helpers and anyone who enjoys pony care.

WORKPACK ESSENTIAL
AN ESSENTIAL BADGE FOR D TEST
Come along if you can already control your pony in rising trot & get started on your road riding career – safely in the arena. Learn signals, equipment, where & when to ride and more. A completed workpack is essential for badge success.

EQUINE BEHAVIOUR
Learn how to deal with a pony safely and correctly and understand pony behaviour in a variety of circumstances. Understand the ‘herd’ instinct and ‘pecking’ order. Learn reasons a pony might ‘misbehave’. An absolutely perfect choice for anyone who is taking tests tomorrow to help improve your practical and theory knowledge of pony management.
Just like this morning’s activity, Equine Behaviour skill and knowledge will improve your riding!

E TEST EXCELLENCE
Informal test session for very young Clubbers & those starting out
The E Test is a super achievable certificate if you are at the start of your Pony Club career. The session will be informal and you won’t even know you are being examined. It’s a success guaranteed activity with lots to learn, fun to be had and friends to be made.
And, you will, hopefully, gain your certificate on the day to take home.
