/ Tara Costigan Foundation - CEO DUTIES

Please consider the following duties in your application:

Plan and Manage

Develop and implement a business or operational plan as reasonably required in agreed timeframes, which gives effect to the strategic objectives set by the Board. The plan will include a budget and information about the source and application of funds, events development, marketing, and media or other aspects and key performance indicators. The plan will be presented to the Board for approval and then form a key document against which progress can be assessed. In managing the implementation of the plan, the CEO will ensure that risks are identified and managed, legal obligations are met, and corporate policies are followed and that the resources of the organisation are used to advance the objectives of the organisation. Contribute to the strategic vision for TCF.

Representing the organisation

Assure that TCF and its mission, vision, programs, products and services are presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders. Stakeholders may include sponsors, politicians, donors, the media, other organisations or the public. When representing the organisation, in person, or via social media or in other forms, it is important that the CEO represent the values of the organisation and not their own personal preferences.

Human resource management

Attract, retain, motivate and develop talented and enthusiastic staff and volunteers. Set a positive internal culture for the organisation, including setting a good example when it comes to ethical behaviour, loyalty, commitment, efficiency and conformance to policy and procedures. Effectively manage the paid, contracted and volunteer staff. Lead on and be responsible for due diligence processes and employer responsibilities for human resources.

Board Relations, Governance and Reporting

Support the governance of TCF by providing advice about risks and opportunities, and options for decision by the Board, and by developing procedures to complement policy. Provide relevant reports to the Board, typically progress against the plan, including financial objectives or key performance indicators. Provide the interface between Board, staff and volunteers and induct new Board members. Ensure compliance with legal and insurance obligations and the protection of the intellectual property of TCF.

Other

Other reasonable duties that may be required by the Board from time to time.
