1. You will need

2. First you will need a frame

If you have bendingstraws, cut the bending edges off.

3. You will need 4 straws for your vertical piece which is called your spine and 3 straws for what is called your spar the cross piece.

4. To fit one straw into the other you pinchthe end a little…..

5. Once you’ve got 4 together tape the connections.

6. When you’re setting up your frame, make sure you have more distance here than here. Your frame is done.

7. Now for your sail. You’re going to cut the ends here and here to open it up.

8. Lay out the bag and put your frame on it.

9. Now we are going to tracethe kite shape using the marker.

10. Markthe bottom left side corner as your keeland mark a line here. Cut cut cut…

11. Now it’s time to attach your frame to the sail.

12. Tape down your spar here and here living space here at the edge to tieon to later.

13. Put a big piece of tape to reinforce the middle.

14. Now you’re going to want to tape your keel to your spine.

15. The lay out goes like this

16. Tape it here at the edges and then tape it lengthwise downmaking sure it’s really sturdy.

17. This will help preventyour spine from bucklingin strong winds

18. Now you are going to attach the first piece of string. It’s a piece called bridle that holds the keel to the main line.

19. Take your floss and cut a piece that is this much longer than your kite.

20. You’ll need to tie your bridle string on the left and right sides of your spar.

21. It wants to connect at the tip of the keel so you have to measure as you are tying. This part can be pretty tricky.

22. Use these dimensions as a rough guide while you are tying it down.

23. Then pull up your bridle and the keel to make sure you have got a good fit. If it’s not right retie it.

24. When it seems well fitted, tape down the connections.

25. Now you are going to connect your main rear line with your bridle line.

26. Pull it tight in the middle to find the centre.

27. Then tie one string around the other.

28. Now pull your keel up to meet the new connection and tape it where all the points meet.

29. Put your main line around a reel instead of using the floss container and wind it up.

30. Roll up your line around your pencil.

31. This will make a perfect reel.

32. Now do some tape reinforcements.

33. The more you tape the frame to the sail the sturdier it will be.

34. Now you will need a tail. Cut some long strips from whatever is left from your bag.

35. And tie them together like this.

36. Tape their ends to the bottom edge of your kite.
