If you need time between classes (for change of tack etc.) please let us know at the start of the day. Most of the classes will be shown under USA-UK Show Rules which are developed from the USA-Equestrian rules (formerly American Horse Show Association) – please note this means NO individual show is required in ridden classes.

Morgans must be registered with the BMHS. Morgan specific classes are open to purebreds only. Saddlebreds must be registered with USA-UK and owned & shown by USA-UK membersin order to compete in any Saddlebred class(5, 6, 10 – 12, 23, 30, 40 & 44) & the Saddlebred Championship. Non-USA-UK registered Saddlebreds and / or non-USA-UK members may show in any other class.NationalShow Horses: straight cross between Saddlebred & Arab – min. 25% Arab, max. 99%. Appaloosas: must be registered with an Appaloosa Society/Association.SkewbaldsPiebalds – do not need to be BSPA registered in order to compete in classes 3, 4 & 19 (except stallions 4yrs & over who must also be licensed), but only those already registered can qualify for the BSPA WCoC at today’s show.AOTS classes – amateur owned, trained and shown. Limit classes are open to horses who have not won more than six first place ribbons in that division. Western horses may be shown 2 handed in a snaffle/hackamore/bosal or 1 handed in a curb bit, in any class, but cannot change hands once entered into the arena. For fuller class descriptions please refer to the show programme (available on the day) or visit or website: The covered outdoor arena has been booked all day and is to be used as a warm up area. Please do not use other areas. Please park cars, trailers and lorries considerately. Stabling is available on site and should be booked directly with the college (01926 – 318291) – see separate entry form. Advertising is available in the show programme from £30– copy deadline 1 month prior to the show. Funds from advertising go directly towards the costs of running this show. In trying to cater for everyone you will find many of our classes open to any breed – I hope you will all enter into the spirit of the event and showcase your individual breeds’ talents in open competition.

All competitors must have adequate insurance to cover any incident that may be caused by them or their animals. The EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW for SADDLEBREDS & Open Pleasure Show for ALL BREEDS

Classes marked thus*, are open to any breed of horse/pony. In hand horses to enter the ring at trot on the left rein (handler may be between horse & judge) and trot to the gallery, where they should line up against the wall. The next horse then trots in and lines up behind the horse in front. When indicated by the judge, the first horse should be walked to the centre of the ring and stood up for inspection. When indicated, the horse should be walked to the opposite wall, then trotted around the arena to the back of the line up. Classes 2 & 9 will be split into (A) 3 years & under and (B) 4 years & over if entries warrant.

Class 1 – Open Youngstock*, 3 years & under, any sex, any breed.

Class 2 – Palomino*any age.

SHORT BREAK

There will be abreak of at least 15 minutes before the Ridden Performance Classes to allow competitors to tack up and warm-up.All competitors in the performance classes should enter the ring at a trot or jog on the left rein– individual shows not required, except for class 32 (western horsemanship).

Class 17 – Baby Green* any tack, including training, but should be clean and neat. Walk and trot/jog only. First year of showing.

Class 18 - Limit Riding Horse / Hunter Pleasure*

C9: STAR OF EUROPE: European Saddlebred Championship – to all entries who have competed in classes 23, 30, 40 & 44plus the 3 winners of HP ribbons in C5, C6 & C7; provided horses are USA-UK registered and ownedshownby USA-UK members.

USA-UK members rosetteswill be presented to the highest placed member (with a USA-UK registered horse) in all appropriate classes.USA-UK membership purchase available on the day at £30 – expires September 2009.

Classes 2 – 8, 12 – 16, 19, 20, 23 – 26, 28 – 31, 33 – 37, & 39 – 50 are qualifiers for the Royal London Show, run by the International Showing Society – first 3 in each class qualify – cards to be returned to RLS within 28 days of qualifying. Exhibitors need to join (£12.50) in order to compete at the RLS – held September at Arena UK.

Classes 3, 4 & 19 are qualifiers for the BSPA World Championship of Colour.

All Performance Championships:are judged way of going and performance 50% & conformation 50%. The judge may ask horses to be stripped in any Performance Championship – grooms allowed in the ring during this phase. Evening attire may be worn in any championship, but should not be worn during day classes.

It is a condition of entry that all exhibitors agree to abide by the rules & regulations of USA-UK and the showground. Riders are advised to wear a BHS secured safety hat at all times when mounted. Should ADULT riders wish to wear traditional non-safety headgear they must sign to indicate they are aware of our safety policy and choose not to follow it. This will be entirely at their own risk and the Organisers will not be responsible in anyway for any incident that arises from such actions. All junior riders (under 18) MUST wear a safety hat in all classes. All exhibitors should have adequate third party insurance for themselves and their animals.
