4-H BARBECUE FUNDRAISER
Our 28th Annual Barbecue Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2004, at the California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta's Sperber Arena. Our fundraiser starts at 12noon to 5:00p.m. barbecue tickets are $7.00 each. This is our only fundraiser that our county council does for the program year. All clubs are asked to participate in this annual event. 4-H Clubs and its members help out by selling barbecue tickets and with preparing and serving of barbecue meat on Sunday. Help is needed from our 4-H members and its adult leaders. All proceeds from our barbecue fundraiser goes back to its 4-H members and its 4-H leaders. Our county council budget is met and scholarships are provided to 4-H members and its 4-H leaders. This year we provided eleven scholarships to our graduating seniors at $250.00 each. Scholarships are provided to 4-H members and leaders to defray the cost of citizenship trips to Sacramento and Washington. We offer scholarships to our All Stars and Ambassador teams. All proceeds from our barbecue fundraiser goes back to the 4-H clubs and its members and leaders. Cooperative Extension does not receive any monies from this fund raiser.
The success of this barbecue fundraiser depends on its 4-H clubs members and its leaders. If we all work together, we can have a successful barbecue fundraiser.
