Piqua City Schools Mission Statement:
The students, parents, staff and community of the Piqua City School District accept the responsibility to provide our students with the best possible opportunities for the intellectual, moral and physical development necessary to become responsible citizens.
As we gear up for another great year, we have attempted to provide you with some helpful information in this newsletter. As always, please call the school office (773-2017) with any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!
PCIS “Indian Days”-PCIS Indian Days is an opportunity for students to pick up their schedules, tour the building, find out busing information, and have their school pictures taken. This year, all paperwork will be done electronically when you attend using a school computer. This will allow you to electronically complete: Parent Authorization Forms, Student Health Information Forms, Internet Usage Forms, and other school documents.Putting money on lunch account and payment of student fees will also be available at the appropriate tables.

First Day for ALL Students-Tuesday August 23rd, 2016.
Student Drop Off and Pick-up-Students being dropped off or picked up by parents are to use the front doors by the commons. This is due to the fact that bus students are dropped off and picked up in the north side lot. Drop off time is 8:00 a.m. Thanks for your cooperation with this procedure.
Dress Code Changes-This year we will be asking students to dress in Piqua colors every Friday for Piqua Day in order to show school pride and unity. Also, this year the staff and students will be dressing up every other Wednesday in as nice as clothes as students are able. The goals for both of these efforts are to participate in school spirit and our new Indian Initiative character program.
School Fees-School fees this year are $40.00 for PCIS students. During Indian Days full or partial payments will be accepted.
School Pictures-In an effort to better serve the students of PCIS, school pictures will be taken during Indian Days on August 16, 17, & 18. This will eliminate pictures being taken in the fall during school. Picture information will be mailed by Lange Photography to students’ residences. Packet information is also available on the PCIS website. Retakes have been scheduled for Sept. 21st, 2016.
Cafeteria News-Did you know you can put money on your child’s lunch account 24 hours a day, seven days a week? With LunchPrepay.com you never have to worry about lost lunch money again. LunchPrepay.com is a secure, easy, and convenient way to apply funds directly to your student’s account. Got to today and check out the wonderful features the program provides.

PBIS-This year (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) will roll out district-wide. We have collectively identified that Piqua Pride will encompass these three character traits: Responsible, Respectful, and Kind. Our goal at PCIS is to instill these three traits, along with others, throughout all areas of the building. Signs will be located throughout the building to reinforce expected positive behaviors. We hope that you will join us in reinforcing these into a community wide effort!
Indian Initiative-This year we will be rolling out a school culture initiative called the “Indian Initiative” that we are very excited about! In conjunction with the Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) initiative that the district is rolling out, we plan to have several committees, school spirit days/weeks, dress for success days, and formal dining happening regularly. We also have 25 behavior expectations that we call “The Indian Way” that we want students and staff to strive for. Students will all be drafted into one of four tribes: Pawnee, Cherokee, Iroqouis, and Shawnee. These tribes will complete for points and prizes throughout the year! Parental support and involvement both at home and at school is encouraged and welcomed! WE ARE PIQUA!
