If you are applying to be a sprinkler apprentice please read the agreement below. If you are hired you will be required to take part in the ABC apprentice program. Classes are held 2 nights a week for 3 hours at the HCC campus in Tampa. Classes begin in August of each year and follow the HCC community college calendar.
As part of Piper Fire Protections, Inc. educational assistance program, Piper Fire will advance the educational expenses to attend the ABC apprentice Program. Piper Fire also agrees that as a condition of your attendance we will adhere to the Apprentice wage scale
In consideration of payment of these expenses, you will agree to the following:.
Tuition and books for the first year of the program will be paid by the student through payroll deductions of $15 per week for 52 weeks following the start of the program. Tuition for the following three years will be paid for by Piper Fire Protection as long as the student maintains a grade point average of 85% or better, and misses no more than 3 classes per semester. The employee will be responsible for the cost of books during the final three years of the program.
You agree to complete one year of consecutive employment for Piper Fire Protection, Inc. following the completion and graduation of the 4th year of the program.In the event that your employment is terminated for cause or due to your resignation any remaining advance amount will become due and payable to Piper Fire Protection, Inc. Any amount paid by Piper for additional years training would be due and payable by the employee unless the employee completes one year of consecutive employment after the training is completed.
If any action is brought to enforce any provision of this Agreement by Piper Fire you agree to pay all costs associated with the action as well as any costs of litigation, including all reasonable attorney fees.
This Educational Expense Agreement creates no contract of employment between you and Piper Fire Protection, Inc. You may terminate your employment with this company at any time with or without cause, and Piper Fire Protection, Inc. may terminate your employment at any time with or without cause.
I understand that if I am hired by Piper Fire Protection, Inc as a Sprinkler apprentice, I will be asked to attend the ABC apprentice program, and will adhere to these guidelines.
