ESL Action Plan: Target Date for Re-Submission – 3/15/2011

In response to the review by both TESOL SPA Review and the College of Education, the following plan has been developed to respond to the concerns of the reviewers. This plan was developed by joint discussions with the Dean, the Associate Dean and NCATE Coordinator, the COE Assessment Coordinator, and the program faculty.

The action plan for the programs that prepare candidates for Teachers of English as a Second Language licensure in NJ involves a re-examination of program course sequence, assessments, and paths to licensure we offer for ESL certification. The program faculty are to be reassigned to the College of Education from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (English department). Also, we will be working with an outside TESOL reviewer consultant through the process as new assessments are designed and piloted.
