How to Add Equipment to the Lists of Eligible Equipment

For the Emerging Renewables Program

If you are a renewable energy equipment manufacture and your product meets the criteria for being listed as eligible for the Emerging Renewables Program you may have your product placed on our list of eligible equipment. Please check the Guidebook for the Emerging Renewables Programfor the criteria. The guidebook can be downloaded at:

www.energy.ca.gov/renewbales/documents/

We have created forms to help identify the information we need to be able to list photovoltaic modules, inverters and metering equipment. To request equipment to be added to our lists, please fill out the appropriate form and submit to our consultant Pete Baumstark. The list of eligible equipment is posted on the Energy Commission website at:

and is updated on a regular basis. The following are the equipment forms we have available:

  • Photovoltaic Modules
  • Inverters
  • System Performance Meters

For other eligible equipment including fuel cells, wind turbines, and solar thermal electric, please contact Pete Baumstark directly.

PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULE FORM

Emerging Renewables Program

We request the following information. Some of the values below are used to calculate the module temperature and power at PVUSA Test Conditions (PTC). If you would like more information on the calculations, please contact Pete Baumstark.

1. / Manufacturer name
2. / Model number
3. / Module type (flat plate or concentrator)
4. / Module family (amorphous, polycrystalline, or monocrystalline)
5. / Mounting type (rail mounted or roofing integral)
6. / Brief description (up to 80 characters)
Data at Standard Test Conditions (STC)
7. / - open circuit voltage (V)
8. / - short circuit current (amps)
9. / - maximum power voltage (V)
10. / - maximum power current (amps)
11. / - power (rated module power) (W)
12. / Aperture dimensions (m X m)
13. / Number of cells in series strings*
14. / Number of strings in parallel*
