NEWS CONFERENCE MONDAY WILL BRING TOGETHER COMMUNITY GROUPS NEGATIVELY IMPACTED BY PROPOSED HEALTH CARE REFORM
Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton Will Address the Broader Issue
WHAT
• Acoalition of community organizations representing the disability community, seniors, children, low-income families and others have scheduled a news conference to discuss the potentially significant impact of the Senate’s proposed replacement for the Affordable Care Act.
• The 142-page American Health Care Act bill recommends:
• deep cuts in Medicaid impacting people with disabilities, children, seniors, low-income families,
• changing essential health benefits (maternity treatment and hospital care),
•prohibitions on annual and lifetime limits,
• eliminating subsidies after 2019 meaning many low-income people would face high deductibles, and
• allowing insurers to charge older customers much more than younger ones.
• News conference will be live streamed via Facebook and on YouTube:
