NHS Member Meeting
Minutes for Tuesday, November 8th
@ Philomath High School Library
12:15 pm
1. At 12:15 pm Co-President, Clark Hellesto called the meeting to order.
2. Instead of an attendance sheet, members will fill out an NHS form.
3. Old Business: Nate- Halloween dance, Special ed dance
a. Re-cap of activities we participated it.
Thank You for all who helped at the Halloween dance and special ed dance!
4. Reports:
A. Person and Topic of report: Emily- Dues, Remind 101 account
Dues- please pay your dues of $15 before the end of the trimester.
Remind 101 account- If you want reminders sent to your phone text: 81010 and type in the body of the message “@bkcade”.
B. Person and Topic of report: Bailey- Canned Food drive
Talk to Bailey if you are signed up. She has assigned people jobs. Start advertising for the canned food drive because it will be next week (11/14).
C. Person and Topic of report: Emily- Adopt a family, Christmas activity
Sign-ups are now available. More info next month.
D. Person and Topic of report: Saff- PYAC tutoring
If you are willing to tutor students from 4:30-5:30 once a week at PYAC, let Saff know. We still need people for Tuesday and Wednesday.
E. Person and Topic of report: Nate- Scholarship
NHS scholarships available for seniors. Nate will be sending out the info through email. Let him know if you want it, but don’t get it.
F. Person and Topic of report: Nate- Math tutoring
There will be a tutoring opportunity during advisory to help kids struggling with math. More info to come.
G. Person and Topic of report: Meaghan- Childcare
On Dec 8th, there is a fundraising opportunity for NHS. They need childcare providers during a bilingual advisory committee meeting. Only two slots available per month (November is already full).
H. Person and Topic of report: Clark- Storybook Land
Storybook land will be held at the fairgrounds in Linn County.
5. New Business:
Remember: Meetings are every second Tuesday of each month.
Make sure to record and get your hours signed when you attend an event (The sheets are in front of Saff’s room)
-If you have any trip or fundraiser ideas, please let an officer or Saff know.
