Vice President-Denise Gentry:
No report
Vice President of Scholarship-Sara:
She did not know what to do. No one contacted her. Jana said that she needs to contact the Phi Theta Kappa Advisor. She looked at scholarship website. Jana explained her job which is to help the chapter with the honors study topic. (Gold Gods and Glory; the Global Dynamic Power)
Secretary-Open:
Still no officer, Jan will be doing meeting meetings.
Treasurer-Donna Minshew
There is $3000 in account and everything was paid off from dance.
Jana reports parking raffle from last year parking spot is to be used for the Katrina fund, and to send a check to the Katrina fund.
Only $145.46 was spent on 50’s Dance.
Student Senate Representative-Maria
Not here.
Historian-Ann Hinojosa
She started working on the scrapbook “Always Lending a Helping Hand.” She would like for all the officers and advisors to put hand prints, and take pictures of officers at the next meeting.
Data Coordinator-Jan Beal:
Jan put up General Meeting Banner on Monday. She will be updating the webpage for PTK with help from the Friends of Information Technology (FoIT) Student Organization. She meets with the President on Monday February 6th at 12:00 noon.
Advisor Report:
Jana says that she got many calls about how good the dance was.
She says that we need figure out what else to do for future dances.
Jana will bring cookies and punch to meetings.
We need to figure how to use the honors topic. Maybe with Bunco Tournament, each member can wear an outfit of different culture; each area has different country
Old Business
a. Vote for Open Officer Positions
· Data Coordinator Position: Officer’s votes Jan Beal to be Data Coordinator.
· Secretary Position: Susana Perez wants to be secretary; this was put on the table until the next meeting. VP appoints her.
b. Chapter By-Laws Review
· VP will send change to Jana.
c. Dance for Adults in Foster Care
d. New Member’s Fee Fund Our criteria for scholarship from Sunflower Project.
· 2.50 out of each fee, single mom create fund to help students pay for new members fee, will want to present to national and put in by-laws
New Business
a. Sign up for Regional and International Conventions
b. Regional Convention Austin at double tree
· This will be held on March 9-11 come home on 12th. You will miss all classes on Thursday
· More information from Mary Hood.
· Jana will email a deadline and all details.
International Seattle Washington Is April 20-23
· Jana will email with details, will try to provide most of trip pay.
· Jana needs a decision from everyone who is going to go.
