Personal Money Management Unit 1

Federal income tax, State income tax, FICA, expenses, interest, annual, loss, profit, goods, supply and demand, producer, consumer, specialization, entrepreneur, free enterprise, investment, income, finances, budget, cost, credit, wages, net income, gross income, pay stub, checking account, savings account, loan debt

1.  Create riddles for your vocabulary words. Your riddle should have a minimum of four lines, should be written in the first person and the last line should be “what am I?” Make sure you have an answer key. MAKE SURE YOUR RIDDLES range in difficulty.
Easy, Average, Hard / 2.  Write a breaking news story – Using your vocabulary words. Make sure your story includes the meaning of all the words. Underline the vocabulary words.
3.  Make a bubble map with the
vocabulary word in the middle. Add 4
bubbles around the word that describe it. / 4.  Create a Word Splash – For each term.
Use key words to describe the term and one image in the middle that represents the word. DO NOT PLACE THE WORD ON THE Word Splash. Put the word on the back like flashcards.
5.  Write a song or rap using all of the words. Make sure the song/rap includes the meaning of all the words. Be prepared to share with the class. Underline all the terms
Type the lyrics / 6.  Create a game using all of your vocabulary words. Make sure the game can be played by other students. Reverse Taboo is a great one! Instructions should be included. Games should be in a box. 2 to 4 Players only
7.  Complete a chart for the vocabulary terms using the Frayer model. The assignment will focus on the definition of the term, stating it in your own words, and a catchy way to remember the word. / 8.  Comic strip: Create a comic strip that shows a story using each of your vocabulary words. Underline the vocabulary words.
