Translating and interpreting have been an integral part of my work in Indonesia and East Timor, including reviewing and editing translated documents by professional translators.

Programme/Project Development

·  UNDP Indonesia:

(a)  Provided technical inputs into formulation, monitoring and evaluation of UNDP programmes/projects in terms of the integration of gender perspectives [e.g., good local governance, peace building and recovery (e.g., needs assessment of internally displaced persons in Central Sulawesi), and poverty reduction programmes];

(b)  Prepared a gender mainstreaming project on the substantive areas of poverty reduction, environmental management, good governance, HIV/AIDS, and conflict prevention and recovery as well as strengthening institutional capacity of Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and technical working groups of select line ministries in mainstreaming gender perspectives into their programmes and policies,

·  UNFPA East Timor: (a) finalized a project document on gender-based violence, (b) prepared a project document on ‘maternity waiting home’ and a gender subprogramme document.

·  UNFPA Indonesia: (a) finalized the Reproductive Health, Population and Development Strategy, and Advocacy sub-programme documents with gender as a cross cutting dimension; (b)prepared project documents on advocacy and adolescent reproductive health.

·  UNFPA Cambodia: (a) prepared some chapters, (b) integrated sectoral (population and development, reproductive health and advocacy with gender and Information Education and Communication as cross-cutting dimensions) and sub-sectoral reports prepared by several authors, (c) content-edited the reports and revised them into a final version.

·  UNFPA Indonesia: (a) focal point of Country Population Assessment (duties included: recruitment of consultants, monitored progress of the exercise, reviewed the draft report); (b) focal point of humanitarian affairs (duties included conducting assessment of situation of internally displaced persons in Aceh).

·  Atma-Jaya Catholic University: prepared the second phase of proposal for AusAID-funded on health education for street children.

·  Served as Programme Officer/Acting Chief of Operations for one year (Country Director was based in Indonesia); Officer-in-Charge of UNFPA East Timor.

·  Managed the gender-based violence project of UNFPA East Timor until the project manager was recruited and continued to provide managerial and technical support to the project management afterward in the capacity as Adviser and the focal point of Gender Sub-Programme.

·  Provided technical support to project implementation of UNFPA East Timor, including preparation of training modules, facilitation of trainings of midwives and police officers.

·  Secured additional funding from USAID for the gender project (UNFPA East Timor).

Duties :

Developed framework for analyzing and synthesizing the data (based on secondary data and staff interview data), and drawing lessons learned on all key management issues; prepared management section of the evaluation report.

·  Provided training on qualitative and participatory evaluation to 15 NGOs and relevant government officials in 3 cities in Indonesia (USAID-funded project).

Capacity building

·  Provided technical inputs for other colleagues in terms of the application of Gender and Development strategy into formulation and evaluation of UNDP projects/programmes (e.g., good local governance programme, peace building and recovery project).

·  Coached colleagues to adaptat relevant gender instruments (e.g., gender audit for the poverty reduction programme).

·  Provided technical support for the gender-based violence project’s staff and partners, including how to adapt a training module on domestic violence for police and facilitated the trainings, which covered the concepts of gender and human rights (UNFPA East Timor).

·  Adapted a training module on participatory evaluation of NGO’ projects and facilitated the training for 15 local NGOs and government officials in 3 provinces of Indonesia (USAID-funded HIV/AIDS project).
