Performance Task Animal Welfare Brochure
Purpose Statement/question: Animal Welfare and the World we live in – How can we as humans change or improve animal welfare and in turn animals change or improve the lives of humans?
Task – create a 6 panel brochure answering the purpose statement/question above. 5 panels must represent an explanatory text structure. (cause/effect, compare/contrast, process, sequence, description,etc.) One panel will be introductory panel with name, class period, date, photo, title.
Produce a creative brochure incorporating, photos, pictures, drawings, interviews, stories, textual evidence about improving animal welfare in our world.
Topics to consider: homeless animals/pets, relationships with humans (i.e sick children, elderly), laws/rules, medical care, caring for a pet at home, what other countries do , fundraisers, donations, or causes for ethical treatment of animals.
A descriptive, narrative story profiling a homeless pet can be one included in one of the panels.
Citations for books, websites, interviews must be included on bottom back panel.
Students must use Microsoft Publisher and email or office 365 link to Ms. Griffith when brochure is completed.
