Dear Parents, 18.1.16
We are now well into the spring term with lots of plans and exciting events coming up for the children. Please see below some important information and dates for your diaries.
Communication by Email and Pay Online Update
The school is now able to send letters of information, like this, by email to save printing and paper costs. If you have received this letter in paper form and would prefer further information to be sent electronically please ensure the school has your email address. Letters that require replies such as consent will still be sent home in your child’s reading folder, so please do continue to check them regularly.
Our new online payments system is now up and running and you should have received information on how to log on. This is a new option to assist you to manage your finances but, if you prefer, cash or cheque payments can still be sent into school. School meals can currently be paid for this way and further options will be added as required. Please do not hesitate to contact the office with any queries.
Statutory Assessment Tasks 2016
Some of the statutory assessment tasks (SATs) have been revised and altered this year in line with the new curriculum. These tasks are for year 2 and year 6 children only. More information to help you understand these changes will be sent to you in the near future. The school is working hard to make sure the children are well prepared and fully confident, as in past years, when these tasks are administered in the summer term.
Friends and Family
Airmyn Park Primary School has a very active Friends and Family group who organised events to raise funds for the children in the school. It is great that our parents, families and friends of the school support everything we do to enable us to raise funds and the children, staff and I would like to say a big ‘Thank You’. The next meeting for Friends and Family is on Wednesday 24th February at 3 o’clock at the school. All welcome (including children). An update of where your money goes will be sent out soon.
Working Together
Thank you to all the families and children who have managed, in busy schedules, to continue to produce wonderful outcomes from the homework tasks set. Our school has never seen so many fantastic castles and snowy scenes as well as completed reading books, phonics check lists, spellings, maths and literacy tasks and much more! Your children benefit from this worthwhile (even though often hard to fit in) activity to support their learning.
Young Voices
May I remind you that all children attending Young Voices will require a packed lunch and a packed tea on Friday as well as plenty of drinks. The Arena does get very warm with so many people there. T shirts and tickets have been sent home. If you have not ordered a T shirt your child will need a plain white top to wear. Children will leave school at 12.30 and we aim to return around 10.15pm.
