Penrith Conservatorium of Music Scholarships 2018

Terms and Conditions

1.To apply, candidates need to fill in the Application Form, pay the Application Fee and attend an audition. Applications made after 5pm Friday 15 December 2017 may not be accepted. Please contact us if you require assistance to complete the applicationform.

2.Scholarships are open to all community members of the Greater Western Sydney region, including the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Nepean regions. Some scholarships require Penrith LGA residency – proof of residency will be required for thesescholarships.

3.The scholarship adjudication panel will be appointed by PP&VA, and other views may be sought. All decisions are final and no further correspondence will be entered into. Please note there is no appeals process.

4.Candidates will be assessed on their performance at the audition.

5.Candidates will be notified of the adjudicator’s decision via email by 5pm Monday 22 January 2018.

6.Scholarships are to be regarded as continuing subsidies and credited each term over the year for which they are awarded. Should a scholarship holder cease to be a student of Penrith Conservatorium of Music then the scholarship will beforfeited.

7.Scholarships are not redeemable forcash.

8.Scholarship holders must perform in the annual Conservatorium Concertthat will be held on the evening of Wednesday 12December 2018. They are also expected to perform in student concerts and during selected Joan and community events throughout the year. Scholarship holders are expected to act as ‘ambassadors’ for Penrith Conservatorium ofMusic and the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre.

9.Scholarships may be withdrawn at any time if the recipient’s commitment or progress is not deemed satisfactory. Scholarships are tenable each term and renewal is subject to approval by PP&VA. Students must regularly attend classes, and be punctual and conscientious. In the event of non-satisfactory progress or attendance PP&VA shall in the first instance attempt to support the student to continue if possible.

10.Photos may be taken for media archives and used as publicity for the centre.
