Student Accountability Journal
The State Leadership Conference is an educational experience—an extension of the learning done in your classrooms at school and an extension of the educational activities conducted by your chapter. This student accountability journal will document your attendance at and participation in many of the learning activities and other requirements at the 2018 State Leadership Conference.
Now that you have reviewed the conference schedule and workshop descriptions, you should create a schedule of activities that you will attend above and beyond the required events at the SLC. The following is suggested:
- If you are not a voting delegate, it is suggested that you complete 8hoursof optional activities at the SLC and document your attendance by summarizing what you see and hear at those sessions.
- If you are serving as a voting delegate, it is suggested that you complete 6 hours of optional activities at the SLC.
- If you are a Member at Large, it is suggested that you complete 10hoursof optional activities at the SLC and document your attendance by summarizing what you see and hear at those sessions.
- If you are a competitor in an event that requires you to be sequestered, your ability to attend optional events may be limited based on how long you are sequestered, and you should speak to your adviser about his/her expectations.

- Opening Session, April 9, 8:30p-10:30p
- Awards Program, April 10,7:00p-10:30p
- Your Competitive Event
If you are a voting delegate, you are required to attend:
- Campaign Rally, April 9, 6:30p-8:00p
- Campaign Booths, April 10, between 9:00a-12:00p
- Voting Session, April 10, between 12:30-2:15p
- Business Session, April 10, 3:15p-4:15p
Your optional activities will include:
- Visiting the campaign booths (you may claim no more than 15 minutes for visiting the booths)
- Visiting with exhibitors to discuss career options, college requirements, and educational opportunities for your post-secondary education(you may claim the amount of time you actually spend discussing your career plans and options with one or more post-secondary representatives up to a maximum of 30total minutes in this area)
- Attending workshops (you may claim 45 minutes for each workshop you attend)
- Participating in open competitive events on Tuesday, April 10, 9:15a-11:45a (see the Conference App for event choices; you may claim the amount of time you actually test)
- Sitting in as a spectator in one of the following performance events (you may claim the actual time
you spend viewing the event; see the Conference App for times and room locations):
