Harvester Relays 2nd / 3rd June 2007

Penhale Sands, Cornwall

The Harvester is a night/day relay event for teams of 7 [Class A] or 5 [Class B].

The following trophies will be awarded:

Harvester Trophyto the leading team on Class A

Sutton Park Trophyto the leading team on Class A not in top 3 in previous 5 years

Handicap Trophyto the leading team on Class A with 49 points or less from the handicap table

Panasonic Trophyto the leading all-women team on class B

Devilla Trophyto the leading team on class B with 26 points or less from the handicap table

Star Posts Trophyto the leading all-women team on class B with 26 points or less from the table

Happy Herts Trophyto the leading all-junior (M/W20 or under) on class B

Teams will be required to indicate, when declaring runners prior to the start,for which trophy they will be competing; the entry form requires that declaration. Normal UK Relay Rules apply. The BOF Guideline for the Harvester Relay will apply. Dusk is forecast to be 2200 hrs while dawn is anticipated at 0500 hrs.

NewquayCornwallAirport has been busy encouraging new routes into Cornwall and low-cost flights are now available from Edinburgh, Leeds / Bradford, Manchester, Durham London and many more. The Organisers are pleased to offer a transfer service from the airport to Perran Sands for a return fare of £9 each. Camping and car parking will be available in the camping facilities of PerranSandsHolidayPark which are within 200m of assembly. There isan additional charge for camping either your own tent (4 person) of £25 for a max. of 2 nights or if you do not wish to bring your own tent the site have permanent, low-cost, “supa-tents” [including fridge, cooker, electricity, etc.]which can accommodate 6 persons for £85 for a weekend rate. These rates have been specially negotiated with the site and are extremely competitive – all pitches are to be booked with the Organisers to enjoy these rates. There will be overnight catering in the assembly area. It is expected that Assembly will consist of a large marquee where refreshments will be available all night as well as real time event monitoring and, if possible, a commentary will be provided. Perran Sands has a range of eating facilities on site which cater for all tastes at all other times.

Cornwall Orienteering Club also intends to run a Sprint Race around the HolidayPark, commencing 1700 hrs, for those visitors who have loads of energy

Entry fees: Class A – 7 legs £75, Class B – 5 legs £55, (all-junior team on Class B £30)

The event will use SI punching. SI-Card hire will cost £1 payable on the night. Each runner must have a different SI-Card.
