A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Barbara Melvin Robinson.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Barbara Melvin Robinson and pause in reverent silence for her soul.

WHEREAS, Barbara Melvin Robinson was a native daughter of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, born in McCracken County, Kentucky to Luther and Eva Cundiff Melvin; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Melvin Robinson demonstrated a love for family, working tirelessly in her home to raise her five children; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Melvin Robinson, in the finest of Kentucky traditions, engaged in the noble occupation of farming; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Melvin Robinson had a love of the equestrian arts, and was noted for her fine horsewoman skills; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Melvin Robinson was an active and enthusiastic Christian, being a member of three churches over the course of her life, Spears Mill Baptist in Bourbon County, Calvary Baptist, and Central Baptist Church in Winchester, having dedicated 40 years of her discipleship to teaching Sunday school; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Melvin Robinson was the loving and beloved wife of H.C. Robinson Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Melvin Robinson was the loving and beloved mother of H.C. "Rob" Robinson III, Barry M. Robinson, T. Grant Robinson, William C. Robinson, and Daniel S. Robinson; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Melvin Robinson was the loving and beloved sister of Dee Dee Pfarr, who preceded her in death, and Jane Lane; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Melvin Robinson was the loving and beloved grandmother of seven grandchildren and the loving and beloved great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Melvin Robinson departed this Earth on March 13, 2006;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its most profound sense of sorrow and extends its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Barbara Melvin Robinson on the occasion of her passing.

Section 2. The House of Representatives affirms that Barbara Melvin Robinson was a model Kentuckian and furthermore affirms that her good works will resonate in the hearts and minds of all those fortunate enough to have made her acquaintance.

Section 3. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Barbara Melvin Robinson.

Section 4. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit seven copies of this Resolution to Mr. H.C. Robinson, Junior, 353 Stoney Point Road, Paris, Kentucky 40361.
