Reading Activities: Students will read articles for the “Current Events for the Week” to summarize and find facts. Current Events. Read for research and fact finding for Education and Decision Making skills activity. Also Number2.com, 4Tests.com, and Freetestprep.com websites will be used as ACT review. Achieve 3000 lesson will be utilized as well. Research will be necessary forVacation Budget, Grocery Budget and Christmas gift Budget, and Income and Education Activities.
Writing Activities: Bell Ringer/Journal Topics: Students will be prompted to write about particular topic (journals/exit slips) using correct grammar and sentence structure using discussion board or pencil/paper method.
Current Events Summary: Students will read an article on current finance and economics related issues for fact finding, write a summary and critique. / Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to….
-Become familiar with the concept of budgeting money.
-Be able to identify risks associated with credit cards and debt.
-Understand general loan concepts.
-Become familiar with general budgeting and investing terminology.
