Grading Procedures

A Course with an EOCT is broken into three categories:

Class Work (Including daily work, tests, projects and quizzes) 70%

EOCT 20%

Final Exam 10%

Classwork is further broken down into categories with different weights:

Tests/Projects – 60%

Quizzes – 25%

Daily Grades (homework; daily class work/student participation in class) – 15%

*Please note that for this course there are not many daily grades or quizzes. The majority of a student’s grade comes from tests. Therefore it is up to the student to keep up with their class notebook, study notes, vocabulary, and study guides in order to ensure the most success in my classroom.

Lunch Detention

All assignments will be expected to be completed. If a student consistently fails to turn in work he/she will be assigned lunch detention and will expected to complete work during that time. Late work will not receive full credit and will be docked at least ten points (if not more).

Major Test Re-takes

Students will have the option to take 3 exam re-takes. The student will be given a remediation assignment to be completed before the exam re-take is given. This assignment must be signed by the parent and returned to the teacher on the day of the exam re-take. The exam given for this purpose can be an alternate exam over the same content as the original exam. The student will be expected to schedule the re-take exam outside of scheduled class time. No quiz re-takes will be allowed.
