PRE-CONFERENCE ACTIVITIES

For the 2nd International Conference of Research in Childhood Education (IRECE) 2014, we have developed a rich plan of activities. We are quite glad to offer a wide experience in national public programs during pre-conference days (6th- 7th, January).

In order to complete a successful registration process, please fill the table with your personal information (right) and select the preferred activities in the list (below).

Public institutions have offered simultaneously activities for Monday and Tuesday. All of them will be available each day in order to avoid schedule issues. Therefore your registration grants one activity for each day. Also, you can choose activities from two different institutions.

Please, select one activity for Monday 6th and other for Tuesday 7th. From the moment you send us your itinerary, you won’t be able to do further changes.

When you have finished this document, send it to with the subject “Pre-Conference Activities Registration“.

All the activities will start at Diego Portales University (Edificio de Aulas, Av. Ejército 326. Santiago: link).

ACTIVITIES FROM FUNDACION INTEGRA

1st Option: Presentation

Kindergarten on Wheels (JardínSobreRuedas) / Monday 6th / Tuesday 7th
It is a form of itinerant unconventional education. A fleet of fully equipped vehicles with innovative and stimulating teaching material, covers different locations leading kindergarten to those places where poverty, low population density and geographical dispersion difficult installation. An educator and an entertainer-driver form the team that visits each city one day a week for four hours, to meet with children and their families. The program aimed children between 2-4 years old.
2nd Option: Presentation and Visit to Fonoinfancia
From 9.00 am to 12.00 pm
Fonoinfancia
Free, confidential telephone service from landline and mobile phones, national coverage, staffed by a team of psychologists that provides guidance on good parenting treating for parents and other adults responsible for the care of children.
What inquiries can be made? Any questions related to situations that arise in the upbringing and development of children: tantrums, aggression, withdrawal, nightmares, potty training, child sexuality, sudden changes in behavior, difficulties in kindergarten/school, difficult family situations, suspected Rights violations, among others.
3rd Option: Presentation and Visit to Kindergarten

Kindergartens and nurseries
Integra Foundation has, over the 15 regions of the country with free establishments that offer safe educational spaces with compromised hosts and promoters of the rights of children, especially their right to a quality education. It provides an excellent educational program aimed at children from three months to entry to basic education, from families living in poverty and social vulnerability, recognizing families as strategic partners in the educational work.
Educational spaces are designed to develop creative learning experiences, safe and comfortable, which promote and encourage physical activity, cohabitation, exploration, manipulation and new technologies discovery. The educational resource is available in various formats while respecting the interests and needs of each child. The furniture is carefully selected and/or specially designed for children, as the cradle for infants Integra, which was developed by the School of Design at the University of Chile and the Chilean Safety Association.

ACTIVITIES FROM JUNJI

1st Option: Presentation and Visit to Kindergarten

Tinkerbell Kindergarten - Kindergarten Classic program / Monday 6th / Tuesday 7th
This educational institution receive children during the day, preferably up to four years old or until the age of admission to general basic education, providing comprehensive care free of charge, to ensure timely and relevant education.
Managed directly by JUNJI. Account with qualified personnel for your nursery levels, average levels and transition. Educational work is oriented towards four lines of action: children, staff, family and community, based on the educational project of the educational unit, which serves pedagogical driver shaft.
2nd Option: Presentation and Visit to CECI
From 9.00 am to 1.00 pm
Visit Education Unit CECI - Alternative program in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development
The Educational-Cultural Centers for Children (CECI) belongs to one of the Alternative Care of attending classes for children from 2-5 years part-time. The program is implemented from community management is carried out by a technician toddler and a team of professionals to support the educational project, which seeks to promote the development and learning of children through creative expression.
3rd Option: Presentation and Visit to Kindergarten

Visit Kindergarten (VTF) dependent of Educational and Charitable Cristo Joven Corporation
This educational institution administered by the Corporation Cristo Joven provides a free comprehensive care that ensures timely and relevant education.
Its structure allows children attend the first months until the age of admission to the General Basic Education. It is organized according to different levels of childhood education: preschool, nursery, middle and transition. It has qualified personnel according to the regulations: an educator at each level and nursery technicians, according to the number of children by room, Director and administrative staff.

Shared Support Plan (PAC)
It is an initiative to support subsidized schools that need strengthening and institutional learning management. Through this plan provides schools with technical assistance and educational resources that seek to improve the learning of children from early childhood education (Pre/K and Kindergarten) to 4th year of elementary school.
Corporeality and Movement Learning Program (CYMA)
It is part of the policies of quality teaching practices and promotion of healthy living, incorporating the physicality and movement as integrating core learning. Designed to improve the quality of educational provision to promote the integral development of children (as) transition levels.
National Plan of Reading Promotion (PNFL)
This national program seeks to promote the enjoyment of reading, from the first years of life. It considers the provision of classroom libraries, advanced for kindergarten educators, counseling and monitoring.
