Job Title: Volunteer Pet Service Worker

Task Description

Hours of Work:As decided by Volunteer and pet service worker - Supervised by: Operations Manager

Job Purpose:You will be responsible for contributing to the successful and efficient running of the Pet Fostering Service.

Your work will be supervised by the Pet Service Co-ordinator on a day to day basis, and you will be directly responsible to the Operations Manager and Chief Executive Officer.

Volunteer should have access to own vehicle hold a full license and be available for min one 4 hour session per week

Time Commitment:

Main Tasks:

Volunteers are essential for Endeavourto continue its work providing pet fostering for the pets of victims of DAV & children escaping domestic violence & abuse throughout the North West.

Volunteers do not replace staff, they complement and support the work as part of a team. Volunteers in the pet’s project can do all or some of the following tasks:-

  • Transport pets and pet equipment to pet foster homes.
  • Transport pets when veterinary treatment is needed - from pet foster carers or kennels or to one of Paws for Kids registered veterinary surgeries.
  • Monitor pets placed with foster carers under the direction of the Pet Service

Co-ordinator.

  • Updating the paperwork for the animal via daily worksheets as and when any information is received
  • Cleaning of Pet Service equipment.
  • Collecting donations

The following is expected of volunteers

  • The Volunteer should always wherever possible call the office the day before to check what has been put in the diary for them to do.
  • To attend supervision meetings with Operations Manager and Team Meetings with pet service workers(to be arranged for a convenient time)
  • To work to Endeavour’sequal opportunities policyand confidentiality policy, which have been developed to help Endeavourachieve a high standard of practice and deliver a quality service to victims escaping domestic violence.
  • To attend Domestic Abuse Training and Awareness
  • To attend appropriate training to build on skills and experience, to identify any training needs at supervision.
  • To submit a request for out of pocket expenses (travel) on a monthly basis, using a volunteers claim form.
  • Pet Service volunteers will initially work on a probationary period of 2 months working alongside the Pet Service Co-ordinator, until it is mutually agreed by the volunteer and the Co-ordinator that they are confident and experienced enough to take on tasks alone. Volunteer will continue to receive ongoing support and supervision from Operations Manager
