Dementia
After the awareness session from Alison Pitt at the last PPG meeting, the PPG would like to hold an event on a Thursday afternoon 2-4pm to raise awareness of Dementia to the community and to offer services/support to carers already caring for Dementia sufferers. Practice Manager to contact Alison for help on organising the event.
Patient Survey
All the surveys were handed out to patients and as far as the Practice Manager is aware all surveys were returned. Surveys been analysed at present and PPG will discuss results when PM has them. PM advised the same survey would not be carried out next year.
Mystery Shopper
PPG spoke about quarter 4’s results which unfortunately the surgery failed. Due to how the appointment system is set up it is sometimes difficult to offer appointments within 72 hours, the surgery offers on the day appointments but this isn’t what the mystery shopper exercise is looking for. PM also advised that with the capitation rising it was getting harder for the practice to meet demands.
Builder and Merger
PM confirmed that the building work will commence on the 29th March and is expected to last until the middle of August. PM saw no reason why any services would be compromised during the build and was happy to report that the GP’s and staff at the surgery expected no changes to appointments etc. Bramcote and Hickings Lane have met recently to discuss merging services between the surgeries. It is intended to be able to share staff and be able to offer more services with more GP’s by merging the practices. Nothing official has taken place yet but the practices are planning on submitting an application form to NHS England to merge the practices. PPG asked that patients should be kept informed at every stage of the proposed merger.
Cake and Coffee evening with Bramcote PPG
The PPG proposed an informal meeting with the GP partners from both surgeries and both PPG’s to discuss the merger, answering questions the PPG might have at this stage. Emma advised that the Care Co-ordination Services were attending their next PPG meeting to give an overview of their services and how it is delivered to patients; Hickings Lane’s PPG was invited to attend this meeting on 27th April @7pm at Bramcote surgery.
