Pastor’s Corner

December is the 12th and last month in the year. This must mean something. The number 12 completes the year. It formed a whole, a perfect and harmonious unit. This month is an exciting month for many Christians because they acknowledge and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25th. The Bible contains two accounts which describe the events surrounding Jesus' birth. They can found in Matthew 1:18 and Luke 1:26 and 2:40. The scripture teaches us that Jesus was born to Mary, assisted by her husband Joseph, in the city of Bethlehem in a manger surrounded by animals. According to Luke 2:7, Mary "wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn". Can you imagine being one of the 1st to see the savior? “And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11. I ask that as you Deck The Halls and Jingle The Bells, to maintain a beautiful spirit in your heart. Keep in mind how blessed you are and think on the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Praise God for who He is and you will certainly Have a Merry Christmas. wikipedia.org
