Collaboration between Professional Associations and University Programmes

The aim of this workshop is to explore how industry associations representing translators and translation companies can work with translation programmes to provide support and guidance to university students and graduates as they embark on professional careers. Representatives from the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL) and the Association of Translation Companies (ATC) will discuss existing and potential collaborations between their associations and university programmes, covering topics such as mentoring schemes, exams and certification, continuing professional development and support mechanisms for student and graduate members.

This event is organised by the UK members of the European Masters in Translation Network, with the support of the European Commission Representation in the UK. It is sponsored by the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission.
