Outlook Tips

Password Requirements and notices

·  Passwords are valid for 180 days. You should get multiple notices when your password is about to expire; 7 days, 3 days, and 1 day.

o  If you find that your password expired without any notices, you could contact: Mike Lock (x 4089), Brian Tou (x 4099), or Pac Lay (x 5547) to let them know.

·  Password Requirements:

o  Cannot match any of your four previous passwords

o  Must be a minimum of eight alphanumeric and special character combination

o  For additional security, you are encouraged to use a passphrase, for example:

§  Get Coffee @store

§  Go C my Doctor!

§  We R Number1?

·  Please Note: If you do not update your password, you will be locked out of your account.

o  Give the Call Center a jingle to have your password reset to a cryptic password.

§  After your password has been reset, you need to wait at least 24 hours before changing it to something more easily remembered.

Inbox Full?
Do you find that you are getting those messages that tell you your Inbox is full? With the Outlook Web App you can now check to see what your Mailbox quota limits are, here’s how:

·  Once logged into webmail, in the Navigation Pane, click Mail. And then, with your mouse, point to hover over your name on the left at the top of the folder list.

·  A window appears that shows the current size of your mailbox and, if your Exchange account has set limits, you will also be able to see at what usage point your mailbox will no longer function properly.

·  If your mailbox is full you will get a warning when it is at 50MB, at 100MB your mailbox will close.

·  You can manage your mail more efficiently by using Personal Folders, which are files that can be stored on your I:\ drive, a flash/thumb drive, or other removable source.

·  Please note: you can only open PST files through the Outlook program.
