Wishlist is the Sunshine Coast’s local hospital foundation whose primary objective is to work with the Sunshine Coast community to fundraise for the additional equipment, services, education and research that enhance patient care throughout the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.

This position is pivotal to Wishlist’s work to support families on the Sunshine Coast and is a leadership role, overseeing the work of the busy Marketing and Communications team. You will work closely with Wishlist stakeholders and play a major part in developing all Wishlist relationships, and the strategies that ensure effective stewardship of funds directed to Wishlist, for the maximum benefit of families requiring assistance at a local public hospital.

Position Objectives /
  • To maintLeading a growing team in maintaining, and develop and enriching relationships with existing Wishlist supporters, Health Service employees and the community
  • To and identifyy and cultivatecultivatenew supporters, both businesses and individuals.
  • To provide business development and strategic planning advice on Wishlist’s fundraising and operational revenue streams
  • To work with the CEO and Wishlist team to effectively implement approved programmes designed to generate funds for the benefit of the Sunshine Coast community Develop fundraising management and supporter stewardship and lead new business development of all Wishlist relationships.

Reporting Relationship /
  • This position reports to the Wishlist CEO.
  • This is a leadership role, supporting the work of the marketing, fundraising and events team.
  • This position is a key role within the Wishlist team and is expected to work cohesively with all members to achieve Wishlist’s stated mission.

Major Challenges / Expanding and growing the wealth and profile of Wishlist, developing and growing the community’s understanding of the role Wishlist plays in support of an evolving Sunshine Coast Health and Hospital Services, developing new relationships and nurturing existing relationships.

Demonstrated knowledge of philanthropy in not-for profit organisations or equivalent and the methods that can be used to secure and maintain supportive partnerships.
 Demonstrated experience in strategic fundraising and/or fundraising programs for not-for profit or similar organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying prospective partnerships/sponsorship opportunities together with the ability to negotiate mutually outcomes and maintain relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and presenting proposals to secure opportunities.
  • Budget management experience and the ability to interpret and draw conclusions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, to work under pressure and establish priorities, with a commitment to quality outcomes and customer service.
  • Excellent qualities in negotiation tact, discretion and an ability to maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities / This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:
Planning and Administration
  • Oversee the work of the team Oversee the team to ensure fundraising income targets are achieved and expenditure is managed in line with strategy/planning and budget requirements.
  • Working with Wishlist’s Financial Controller Ccontribute to the team budgets and reforecasting process in line with the organisational strategy and planning process.
  • In collaboration with the Financial Controller, develop the budget management and financial reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate and compliant contracts are in place with all partners, event sponsors and table ambassadors and reviewed and updated on time.
  • Ensure relevant policies are developed and reviewed in accordance with the policy register and any relevant industry standards and legislative requirements.
  • Responsible for developing regular and ad-hoc reports that are accurate and provide insight into current operations.
  • Implement and maintain a process to measure activities against KPI’s established by Board as part of annual Operations Plan.
  • Thoroughly research and identify appropriate Wishlist alliance partners and events sponsors and negotiate a successful outcome to secure prospective supporters.
  • Identify opportunities to work with local business to support/reduce Wishlist operational costs.
  • Ensure administration of the team’s work is completed in an efficient and effective manner.

Relationship Management /
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure the development, implementation and evaluation of contracts.
  • Ensure each relationship with a Wishlist supporter or donor is managed in a supportive, collaborative manner, with the ability to leverage opportunities for all parties.
  • Responsible for developing relationships and managing key accounts/campaigns to drive income growth, inline with operational plans and budget requirements.
  • Responsible for the overall planning and evaluation of each account.
Ensure contact is documented in our database with appropriate action where required.
  • Responsible for ensuring Wishlist is represented at Shared responsibility to attend relevantrelevant events to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Responsible for managing expenditure and ensuring budgets are maintained.
  • Manage and resolve any issues as they arise and where required escalate to CEO.
  • Accountable for ensuring volunteers that support the team are managed in accordance with internal procedures and are provided with a positive interaction with Wishlist.

Fundraising and Event Support /
  • In collaboration with the Events Coordinator, Ssolicit sponsorship and ensure costs comply with approved budget.
  • Liaise and coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure campaigns/tours/events are coordinated and implemented in line with stakeholder requirements.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate contracts are in place to ensure appropriate and ongoing management and that key elements of all contracts are met.
Drive an innovation recognition program to ensure appropriate contracts are in place to ensure appropriate and ongoing management and that key elements of all contracts are met.
  • Drive an innovative recognition program to ensure appropriate outcomes for donors/event/partners.
  • Liaise with the Communications and Events Officers to ensure all PR and media opportunities are captured and integrated into the campaign.
  • Undertake and assist the Communications Officer and supporters with public relations activities.
  • Work with Wishlist supporters to ensure maximum public benefit from fundraising activities, while protecting the Wishlist brand and the integrity of the Wishlist organisation.
  • Develop and manage the acquisition of new individual supporters with an emphasis on workplace giving and the retention and development of existing supporters through effective engagement and communication.
  • With your team effectively steward a range of existing donors to sustain connection with Wishlist and cultivate support.

Project Management /
  • Where opportunities are identified and approved by CEO, develop EOI and or negotiate terms of partnerships that will see a fair and transparent process appoint the most suitable business partnership to support Wishlist’s mission.
  • Ensure due process is followed and approval of business case obtained for all projects outside the standard scope of Wishlist’s work.
