Background and experience
Please briefly present the partner organization.
Being one of the perspective growing NGOs in our region Puglia and promoting youth initiatives in our city Bari and neighbourhood, we deeply recognize the responsibility towards the development of future. In this regard, we see the importance of connecting youth with different backgrounds together, promoting dialogue between different groups of people and helping to develop an independent, progressive and upgraded civil society.
EUROSUD is established in the small city of Triggiano. Close countryside and rural area around Bari .
The organization is made up of number of experts with a goal to offer a support, help, services and counselling in the area of civil society and democratic institutions development, civil values, and non-formal education for all citizens (especially for young people).
EUROSUD organizes events (round tables, debates, seminars and workshops) about activism, education, promotion and exchange regarding human rights, development of local, regional, European and international cooperation. EUROSUD especially promotes development of creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable development (of civil society).
EUROSUD promotes international mobility projects in order to study and work abroad, with the aim of enhancing the professional and linguistic skills and promoting greater integration into the global job market.
The aim of the organization is to facilitate the communitarian European integration, and promote the knowledge of the European culture among the young people, in particular, and of all the citizens, in general. We aim to improve the quality of life of people in our town and the region of Puglia, as well to foster social inclusion and civic activism. Our goals are also to develop cultural, democratic, social and ecological conscience among youth, to encourage cooperation of young people with different interests and activities, and to increase influence of young people on the local community. Also, the main aim of our association is to foster youth participation of young people in civil society, to bring social changes, development and improvement of society where we live, using different tools and mainly focused on youth field.
We aim to educate young people in order to give them opportunity to spread everything they have learned and to encourage them to become actively involved in the life of their community.
What are the activities and experience of the organization in the areas relevant for this application?
We have been engaged in different youth activities as volunteers and during this period we have gained a lot of experience, increasing our knowledge with a direct impact on our personal and social development. We have been participating and helping in facilitation of similar activities and this is what gave us the motivation to continue with our own actions.
We have participated in several European activities, such as youth debates, workshops, exchanges, trainings and seminars within the Youth in Action and ERASMUS + Programme.
We have several strong partnerships with European institutions on local level, such as EURES, EUROPE DIRECT and EURODESK and partnership on local level with Municipality of Corato, Forum Giovani Puglia and Centro Studi Diritto dei Lavori. In addition to this EUROSUD is also part Anna Lindht Foundation Network and larger network of NGO's all over the European countries and all the results will be disseminated through this network as well.
Regarding our activities within the Erasmus+ program we are active as sending and hosting organization.

In order to increase our expertise and share good practices with other youth workers across Europe, our youth workers and members attended several training courses and youth exchanges for the past four years.

EUROSUD NGO is active in local, national and international actions spreading European values active citizenship, awareness and participation. Respectively, on local -national level EUROSUD is running the project
  • „ERASMUSINTERN“: The Erasmus+ Traineeship grant programme is available for anystudent attending a full degree programme in Europe and who is looking to conduct an internship in another European country. The Erasmus+ programme enables students to spend a placement period between 2 months and 12 months in EUROSUD organization as part of a degree course. Right now EUROSUD is hosting 4 trainee through this program.
  • „VOLUNTEER 2.0“ is a project that mostly running on web. Several volunteers , has signed avolunteering contract with EUROSUD , they commit themselves , for certain hours per week to keep posted and updates the social channels of our organization. We are involving trough this project 4 volunteers.
  • „WORK’N’STUDY“ represents an internship opportunity open for students from Law Facultyorganized in partnership with University of Bari. This project (curricular internship) gives students the opportunity for a first encounter with the labour market in NGOs and also help them for future professional choices . The activities planned for the interns, concerns the promotion of youth mobility through the organization and management of courses, events and other activities designed to increase the knowledge about the opportunities to gain experience in Europe through youth programs. The internship lasts 150-200 hours and so far we hosted two interns.
On international/European level we are active to take part in different projects, seminars or conferences. So far EUROSUD have been engaged in the:
  • EUROSUD in collaboration with SOF International network every year in June organize Rose Picking Experience in Bulgaria. It’s one week long coaching project where youngsters have opportunity to collect rose flowers in fields, visit local rose oil distillery and take part in Rose festival. Project is financed from private and public grants.
  • European EFOS Week at Faculty of Economics in Osijek, Croatia (May 2016). The main objectives of this year’s European Week was present and inform the students from Osijek about possibilities that EU offers, but also to share real stories about students who were brave enough to make one of these options. More than 200 students were present at the lecture, and later they participate in several workshops organized by EUROSUD team.
  • Conference"Budi poslovan, budi konkurentan!" at Faculty of Economics in Osijek, Croatia (April 2015). Our key staff presented organization and our work. The aim of our lecture was to introduce young people to the opportunities offered by the Erasmus + and how they can use them in finding a job.

What are the skills and expertise of key staff/persons involved in this application?
Our team is formed by long-term volunteers in youth work, most of them since their twenties. We have succeeded in professionalizing our passion. Our staff is completely voluntarily. In addition to that, we have four permanent volunteers in the core of the organization.
Adriano Difronzo, founder and project coordinator ensures that the people and resources are devoted to completing a goal and that are used appropriately. His master degree in Law provides organization up to date information within legal frameworks. His tasks consist mainly in coordinating meetings and other conferences regarding the activities of our organization. He also takes care of the whole process of creation, writing, coordinating and facilitating youth projects within Erasmus+ and extending EUROSUD network of partners for future cooperation.
Kristina Vidović, as office coordinator is actively working on developing and implementing business and management strategy, coordinating Erasmus+ deadlines and helping with logistics during Erasmus+ projects. Her role is also to provide support for international interns and volunteers as well as to coordinate team of 5. Her educational background equipped her with knowledge and tools for research, collection and analysis of information necessary for successful project application and implementation.
Andrea Bellusci, youth worker who assists on Erasmus+ projects and delivers a wide range of topics. He takes an important role in organization because he speaks fluently 4 foreign languages and eases communication with international partners who are not fluent in English. Moreover, he is in charge for establishing a positive environment and encouraging youngsters to discover the best version of them.
Gabriela Difronzo, web administrator and creator of the EUROSUD website. Keeping updated all social network accounts and creating support materials, such as brochures, booklet, flyer, graphs or other visuals is her main task.Using her skills and knowledge EUROSUD is increasing the visibility, impact and quality of the implemented and on-going projects from our partner network.
What activities will we carry out in order to prepare the participants for the project?
As a partner,EUROSUD commits itself to carry out the following activities:
  • Help the coordinating organization in promoting the project in social media and through the official site of the organization
  • Recruit the Italian participants according to the profile of the project and requirements of the coordinator
  • Assist the selected participants in buying their tickets, provide information about the Erasmus+ Programme and the NGO, encourage the preparation of learning materials which are supposed to be used during the training, offer tips and tricks for a successful Italian intercultural night, and support them whenever is needed
  • Take part in the evaluation of learning outcomes with the use of an evaluation form filled in by the participants after their return to Italy
  • Contribute to dissemination of project results
Furthermore, EUROSUD is ready to carry out any other preparatory activity if the coordinator wishes so.
