SUPERVISOR:Logistics Officer
SUBORDINATES:Drivers
JOB MISSION / PURPOSE:
To support the Logistics Officer in coordinating the InterAid Uganda’s fleet, Drivers and provide transport services to all staff.
Transportation Function:
  1. Participate in preparing fleet monthly reports.
  2. Prepare and update vehicle maintenance records and forward to the Logistics Officer for monitoring and control.
  3. Preparing requisitions for completed service for payments to the garages and other service providers.
  4. Preparing requisitions for vehicle repairs and maintenance and following up accountabilities for the same.
Transport coordination
  1. Supervise motor drivers and allocate vehicles in accordance with the staff needs
  2. Control the parking of vehicles within the stipulated times
  3. Receive all transport bookings
Repair and Maintenance
  1. Support the Logistics Officer in checking vehicles for servicing requirements, damage and arrange repair or replacement of vehicles or vehicle parts;
Support to Staff
  1. Support transport staff to enable them perform their duties effectively.
  2. Ensuring that Drivers are adequately trained and developed for their roles e.g. by analysing their training needs, organising the delivery of training.
  3. In charge of monitoring and reviewing Drivers performance in particular, ensuring that transport staff are working effectively to meet
  4. Ensure that Drivers record vehicle mileage in the log looks provided.
  5. Responsible for ensuring that staff riding have adequate and up to standard safety riding gears.
  6. Compile vehicle movement, fuel usage and vehicle monthly reports and submit to the Logistics Officer
Risk Management
  1. Identify, assess and develop strategies to mitigate against risks that may happen in the Logistics function
Compliance
  1. Ensure compliance to policies and procedures.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
  • Degree in Logistics & Supplies Management, Fleet Management, Business Administration or any related program.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar role in a busy environment.
  • Utmost professional integrity
  • Good record keeping
  • Good planning and coordination skills
  • Driving skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS EXCEL, MS Power point and MS Project
  • Flexibility with commitment to fulfill the job requirements and demands at all time
