Job Description

Peace International is a faith-based not-for-profit organisationbased in London which has been running since 2008, and encompasses a range of projects and seeks to support the relief of poverty, hardship and distress in the community. It is dedicated to helping bring peace, reconciliation and development to local communities in the United Kingdom (UK) and in several African nations. Our aims include the relief of poverty by the provisions of services which focus on poverty alleviation, sustainable development, education as well as the advancement of human rights, conflict resolution in Sub-Saharan Africa.

We are recruiting for the role of part-time Marketing and Fundraising Assistant to play a key role within the organisation.

As Marketing and Fundraising Assistant you will work closely with the management team to help develop successful fundraising and marketing channels for the organisation, and will play a key role in helping to develop the organisations fundraising and marketing strategies more broadly. This is a great opportunity for an early-stage graduate, student or passionate individual looking to put their mark on an organisation, boost their CV credentials, and gain experience in marketing and fundraising.

You will be required to be innovative and creative in your approach to the role, and feel comfortable pitching and implementing new ideas that will support the organisation.

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Designing flyers, leaflets.
  • Fundraising and promotional materials for the organisation.
  • Support the branding strategy of various fundraising initiatives.
  • Contribute to the research and writing of grant and funding proposals.
  • Undertaking pro-active and re-active research of new sources of fundraising.
  • Help to organise collections, events and other fundraising activities.
  • Help to promote the work of the charity and encourage support from the local community.
  • Regularly attend and participate in meetings.
  • Complete agreed action points.
  • Maintain the supporters and donors database and respond to their enquiries.

Essential requirements:

Ability to work in a team

Ability to work independently and on your own initiative, with minimal supervision

Ability to work remotely

Enthusiasm and sympathy for the work of Peace International

Strong IT skills (Experience with graphic design, and a willingness to design) promotional materials

Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Excellent communicator

  • Good administrative and organisational skills.

Practical Considerations

An understanding of marketing and fundraising practices

Previous experience in writing grant applications is necessary but not essential.
