DUTIES:

This anticipatory competition is looking for a dynamic individual to fill a one-year term position in Prince Albert National Park of Canada. The main focus of the position is working with the public, volunteers and stakeholders, and providing support to the Communication Section. The successful candidate will be part of the Communication Section located in Prince Albert National Park.

Applicants will be screened against the following criteria and must clearly indicate they meet those established criteria.

LANGUAGE:

  • Bilingual Imperative B/B/B

EDUCATION:

Successful completion of at least two years post secondary education in communication, public relations, journalism or similar field, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience

Preference will be given to candidates who have a Bachelors or Master Degree in these related fields.

EXPERIENCE:

At least five years experience in:

Maintaining relationships with internal and external audience

Working with the public, stakeholders and volunteers

Working with the media

High quality writing, editing and preparation and coordination of reports, presentations, information materials, media releases.

Researching, evaluating and synthesizing complex information into various communication products

Working with computers and a variety of computer software programs including Microsoft Office

Preparing, developing and delivering administrative services involving non-government or government organizations

Developing, administering or implementing policies, regulations, and procedures related to Parks Canada

Preference may be given to candidates with more than five years of related experience.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT/APPOINTMENT

A Federal Government Enhanced Security Clearance is required.

Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent.

Must wear a Parks Canada Uniform.

Must be prepared to work shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as scheduled.

It is mandatory that all persons newly appointed from outside the Public Service agree to having their pay deposited directly to a financialinstitution of their choice and to providing the information for this purpose.
