March 21, 2016
Call to Order
The meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission of the City of King was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by ChairpersonHughesby followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes, No meeting minutes were read, as February’s meeting was cancelled.
Administrative Agenda
a. Updates and Staff Report
1) Update on Current Programs
Coordinator Wasson reported that Adult Paint Nights were going very well and more had been scheduled. She reported that finding dates for new classes had been difficult because Little League and softball season had started and families were busier than normal.
Coordinator Wasson also reported Girl’s softball had started that that over 75 KingCity girls were playing in the league. Games began on March 19 and the girls will play against teams from Soledad and Greenfield. Last game of the season is May 7.
Applications for the summer pool season were also in and interviews for new staff would be held the week of March 28. Coordinator Wasson reported that a majority of the previous year’s staff would be returning.
Coordinator Wasson also reported Summer Day Camp would begin on June 6 and run for eight weeks. She reported staff had to decided to charge a weekly fee for the camp, to help boost attendance.
2) Discussion of FordenPark Renovation
Chair Hughes reported that picket sales were going steadily and a small group of community volunteers were meeting every Wednesday at 5:00 to discuss fundraising and plans for the park.
Commissioner Kline and Commissioner Cortez offered to walk the surrounding neighborhood around the park and ask for donations. Coordinator Wasson would be bringing Commissioner Kline a receipt book to issue receipts for the donations he received.

Chair Hughes motioned to adjourn the meeting at 5:45p.m. The next Regular Meeting is on Monday,April 18 at 5:00 P.M.
