  1. Safety Concerns (7:00)

Parent pick up along 10000 South: It has improved since Mr. Jeffery went and talked to parents that parked along the south side of 10000 South. Nathan Adams volunteered to see if we can get a sign out on the south side that says something similar to, “No Parking between 8:00-8:30 and 3:00-3:30 Monday-Friday”

Also discussed was the possibility of hanging a “Turn your key, be idle free” along the fence on the north side of 10000 South.

Morning garbage pickup when kids are walking into school: Parents have noticed that garbage and delivery trucks are in the parking lot while students are coming to school. Mr. Jeffery will ask Jeannie to contact the garbage and delivery companies and ask them to stay to their scheduled pick up times and if that can’t happen then they cannot come in while students are coming to school.

Also discussed if there are known protocols for parents that remain in the parking lot between 8:10-8:30 and 3:05-3:25. Parents should stay in parking spots and not line up at the gates.

  1. School Survey Results Summary (7:10):
  2. We reviewed survey results of how teachers feel we can spend our cell tower money to benefit students and teachers. smart boards, professional developments, and small things for teacher appreciation were a common theme. Members of the SCC determined we need more specific information about what teachers would like what, if those that want a smart board are willing to attend trainings, as well as what specific social studies and science helps they want. Mr. Jeffery will talk to his BLT Team and get back to us.

Also, previously the district said they would provide a color copier for Park Lane. Mr. Jeffery agreed to check up on this.

  1. Budget approvals for this year (7:20)
  2. Motion for a cart of chromebooks to be purchased was made by Shannon Melchior. Second by Elcena Saline. Unanimously approved in the affirmative.
  1. School Baseline Data/EWS (7:30)
  1. Including beginning year data for our CSIP: Elcena Saline presented data regarding Park Lane literacy scores. Members of the SCC discussed data and options of how and what we are doing to reach our goal. For more information about Park Lane scores please see hallway bulletin board.
  2. Also discussed was locating and adding good apps to increase phonemic awareness as a possible help for parents to Park Lane’s website.
