Our Christmas Appeals:

We would like to say a very big thank you to all our amazing and generous parents who again contributed to our Christmas appeals.

The gifts were gratefully received by the patients at the University Hospital of Wales along with the generous donation we received from Just Love Foods of over 60 delicious cup cakes.

Below is a copy of an email I received just after Christmas from the parents of a patient who woke up on Christmas Morning to find one of our gifts at the bottom of her bed! This brought a tear to the whole of the Caerleon Team and highlights why we do it!

Dear Kaye

“I just wanted to send you a huge thank you for your gift that was given to my 5 year old daughter when she ended up in hospital on Xmas Eve.

Thea broke her arm on Xmas Eve and ended up needing an operation on Xmas Eve night which we all found traumatic.

We were so disappointed to find out that her and I were going to be waking up in hospital on Christmas Day, leaving Thea’s Dad, older brother and older sister at home. It was so upsetting not to be with all my children on Xmas morning but your gift put a smile on Thea’s face and Thea woke Christmas morning to find that Santa had left presents at the bottom of her bed, as well as leaving some at home for her return.

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and for making Christmas in hospital that bit more pleasurable for lots of children”

Our Next Appeal:

Our next Appeal will take place on Week Commencing 26th January. We will be raising funds to support the Cracker Jacks Children Trust.

Cracker Jacks is a national charity committed to offering help and assistance to any child, or their family, who suffer from a severe disability.

We will be dressing up all week in any outfits of your child’s choice and we will be making cakes which you can purchase for a small donation at reception. We will also hold a balance a 20p on a lemon challenge! If you can complete this task then you will receive a prize donated by Jump!

We have also arranged for a children’s singer and performer to come and play for the children. Full details and arrangements for this special week will follow shortly.

Our Christmas:

Wow, what an amazing end to 2014. It was lovely to see 300 guests attend the Christmas Party and have such a fun time. The staff enjoyed every minute of it too especially the disco!

Our next Fun Family Day will take place on Saturday 28th March at 11.00am.

Thank you to everyone who gave such generous and wonderful gifts and cards to the Caerleon Staff Team. They were all gratefully received.
