SFA - CODE OF CONDUCT

We look forward to working with your child in helping them learn; respect each other, develop responsibility and recognise the merits of effort and success.

To meet those aims we will follow the below code and ask that you also follow them. We thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Please:

Accompany your youngster to football whenever you can and show your appreciation.

Be enthusiastic, encourage your youngster and his or her team-mates.

Leave coaching to the team coaches.

Let your youngster be a young person.

Consider taking an SFA coaching course.

Please do not:

Use tactical instructions. They are busy enough with themselves, the ball and their opponents.

Become angry, especially when they have lost.

Criticise the referee. He or she is trying their best too.

Overemphasise winning. Losing is part of the game too.

IMPORTANT TEAM INFORMATION

We request that you and your child agree and respect the below to help us create a safe learning environment and minimise disruption.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

We hope you enjoy watching and supporting your child and their team mates as they progress.

Each year we need parents and family to support our activities, including, match days and the end of season event.

FOOTBALL TEAM – As per our constitution we need 2 parent members. Please volunteer and help guide the team.

TRANSPORTATION - On match days we require sufficient drivers and vehicles to safely transport all the children to away matches. As Coaches we are also parents with responsibilities and are not able to transport all the children without your help.

HOSPITAILITY - At home games we provide hospitality for our visitors, parents and children. To ensure this happens we require parent volunteers to organise the tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, juice and crisps for parents during the match and the players and friends after the match. The cost of these will be met by the Football Team.

FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT – At home games we may require help to install and put away football goals and other equipment.

END OF SEASON EVENT – We held a successful event in February 2013 and would like to repeat this as an annual event. This requires organisation, teamwork and your involvement.

Please consider helping your school team by getting involved

PARENT FEEDBACK AND/OR COMMENTS

Consider providing feedback and/or comments about this Parent Information Pack and any other aspect about the running of the school football team. If you are happy with the Football Team a simple acknowledgement of such views would suffice.

------TEAR OFF ------

To the Football Team

Please consider the following:

“The day you think there is no improvement to be made is a sad one for any player.”

Lionel Messi

“I have changed nothing; my style of play is still that of a child. I know that above all it is my job and that I should approach it in another way, but one must not lose sight of the fact that football is a game. It is imperative one plays to amuse oneself, to be happy. That is what children do and I do the same thing.”

Lionel Messi
